Wow, that is so beautiful. It's like looking at a hot rod Mustang ready to cruise the roads of Mailbu.

Very classy looking. I love the look.

very beautiful. i'll need to try out the Ear+ sooner or later, they get too much acclaim with Grados not to!

edit: crap, it's $600!! no, that isn't me being taken aback by its price. it's me being mad i bought this cursed Dared MP5. luckily i'll soon be selling off everything but the Grados for reasons i'd rather not discuss, so i will have extra funds when summer creeps up on us.

edit2: also, apparently it uses 5751 tubes, which IIRC was Stevie Ray Vaughan's favorite tube for guitar amps. that must be a good sign for me to buy this sucker...

JJ ECC99 and Sovtek 5751 are provided. It will be driving my Grado RS-1. Next purchase will probably be a nextgen Lavry. That should be give me enough time to save some more money.

thats a good price. a sp or raptor is over a 1000. is there any truth to the statement that senns and other high impedance cans dont match so well with MADs

The Senns. were used initially (it's said) by Lloyd to tune his headamps, and my DT-990s(05e) sound GREAT with my MAD with a wide soundstage and no harshness or sibilance....

yeah i know; right after that statement i said that i was just kind of dumbstruck because i bought the Dared MP5 which costs almost as much and doesn't have near as much workmanship, although it does have a good DAC. my stupid memory made me think the MAD was $700~ assembled...

oh well. unfortunately my hi-fi march was put to a halt and i'll have to wait until the summer to start adding permanent upgrades to the rig. a MAD Ear+, PPX3 SLAM-6SN7, or Melos SHA-1 are all on my mind. three great competitors and i have no idea what to do... since the products i chose are factory-direct or dead in the Melos's case. but not for long.... CRAP! i forgot about that site, too. i don't know whether to hope they do an all-tube SHA-1 or to pray they don't so i don't have yet another new <$1000 contender. it's madness i tell you, and makes me feel like keeping it simple with the RA-1... kind of.
