The original setup was posted here.

Well I have been tinkering with them recently and today decided to change them up.

I have been convinced that one of the issues with them is a lack of volume in the sealed cavity behind the driver. In an effort to fix this I decided to cut down the driver, so it would fit down futher into the front housing, giving more space behind it. I also drilled more holes to bleed backwave pressure that doesn't go out the rear through to the front cavity (between the drivers and your ear). From reading about blue tak mods to the A130 and even the K81DJ I decided to also line the inside of the cups with some I had left over.

In an effort to make the blue tak work better, I ditched the speaker cloth coverings.

They actually sound a little different. Seems the bass has once again been reduced (they sound normal now, no longer any bit of bloat), meanwhile the highs have come in with a little more clarity. The midrange still does sound a little odd. Hard to explain. Definately an improvement. I now need to paint them.

Probably not, you need to upgrade to the Fusion!

Makes me wonder if somewhere there's a forum just like this for razors...

Face-Fi (Face Fidelity and Razors)! Maybe Gillette is the Bose of razors, and there are all these other companies we don't know about that are so much better for the price. In all seriousness, though, these headphones are starting to look pretty nice design-wise. I'm personally still quite satisfied with my circumaural KSC75 mod; I do think it helped IMMENSELY that mine were in the same amount of ear contact as the original KSC75s were, unlike Hozo's and I presume your earlier revision.

Aww, they looked so much better with the cloth. Maybe you should wrap the cloth around everywhere but the vent ^_^

Installed some Rat Shack 68 ohm resistors (0.5 watt, 5% tolerance). They were the closest I could find to a 75 ohm. Per word of Kramer I installed them. I am impressed with the change. Obviously you now have to turn your amp up further for the same volume level, but it seems to work in their favor. There is just the slightest bit of something odd in the midrange, but to be honest it isn't that big of a deal. As they are now, these Kosby's blow my HD-202's out of the water for whatever that is worth. I no longer have a KSC75 to compare them too, but compared to my KSC35, they seem a little more fun with a firmer foundation (lower frequecies). They also don't exhibit much treble flare, being a very modest/polite can. I would say something with the placement of the driver is causing the upper frequencies to be a little rolled off...which I actually like. I am a big fan of cans that are the opposite of bright.

...now on to some paint.

Well some people still insist on using a sharp shaving blade rather than razors. I guess if we learn how to temper steel, then we can machine our own shaving blades. Keeping in tune to the whole DIY theme of the thread? LOL.

Nice mods there, i'm wondering how i'd like the look if there was shag carpeting instead of the grill.
