The point that I and Cigga were making was that you would have plenty of people buying your stand if it allowed the 1266 to rest on the metal bar. I know you're saying it's unnecessary but it's better for the life of the headband and o rings (it's going to be on the stand for far longer than it's on our heads day to day), and also more secure.
There's a reason lots of people want the Rooms stand, and there remains a huge gap in the 1266 market if you want to make a different stand. Look at today. Stefan announces 5 of them coming back into stock and they're all gone. I'm betting the margin on a $350 headphone stand is decent.

Definitely. Abyss sells their new stand for $500 (and I bought one, but don't use it), and they could sell the Rooms stand for probably $750 and people would still buy it. You'd think somebody would have emulated the design by now, but I guess not. The Rooms stand is amazing. I kinda collect headphone stands. My favorite is the Rooms Abyss one, but it only serves the TCs. My real favorite headphone stands are from Woo Audio. They are adjustable, and have a good curve at the resting point. I have like 12 of them. I also have the focal stand, which is nice (and pricey), but it isn't adjustable. It doesn't really matter though because it's tall enough. The worst mistake a headphone maker can make with a stand is to not make it tall enough (or not adjustable....Abyss, you really messed up with that). I want a stand that holds my headphones with the cables on. It has to be tall enough so there isn't stress on the connectors. It's really not that hard. Just make it adjustable like Woo.
I’ve bought one, having experienced an O-ring break on me before (luckily while it was on my head). I definitely wouldn’t recommend a stand that relied on the headband.

Normally reviewers were penalised for selling review units. I have a hard time believing he bought a >2000$ cable for 1266 cable given the nature of his channel

Honestly, this is very normal and he's got a kid now...so I'm happy to turn a blind eye. But yes, reviewers are always selling on gear they've bought for cheap. It's the nature of the show though. We want reviews and impressions, and manufacturers want the word out there.
I'm cool with this personally. We just don't normally get a YouTube video advertising the fact.

I am 99% sure he got it for free or almost for free (maybe only paying actual material costs or so), since he is "The Abyss guy". He openly said in a video before, that he could not afford a 1266TC. He is basically the reason why Abyss gained so much more traction in the first place (him and the Zeos / LTT video).
If i had to guess, he got loaned the 1266 for review purposes, and then when Abyss noticed that they got a bunch of orders, they generously allowed him to keep it.
I am not even that mad, because i also, same as many other people, would not have had this headphone on my radar. It's one of my favourites and will only leave me when Abyss comes out with a true successor to their 1266TC.
On the other hand, he simply does not publish a single bad review for any Abyss headphone. So that's that. Always be cautioned when it comes to very positive impressions of an Abyss + Joshua Valour.
That's my opinion and speculation of course, yours may differ.
I’d be cool too, if there was some transparency. I know some local reviewers personally and they are very very careful who they sell review units to (but they’re open what the products are and sell cheap). Neglecting the fact it totally reveals the past reviews are biased

Yeah that has been pretty clear. I dumbed by the lack of transparency, omitting the fact where the products come from and that the reviews were often biased. Maybe I’m used to too high standards with Wavetheory. Anyway now the video has been made private

I think that's a bit too harsh, but he is way more of a consumer-grade reviewer than a serious (audiophile) one that digs deep into the sound aspect. He only scratches the surface, which is fine, but it's not the type of review i will take very serious (anymore).
