Does anyone know about the Sennheiser CX495?  It is on sale through today at newegg for $29.95 after the promo code.  I used CX300's for a while, and then moved to Klipsch s4's (which I just broke).

most Sennheiser CX series aren't that good....maybe except for the really high end ones.

instead of taking risks, why don't you just get some iems that is recognised by this community (like the DUNU Trident, Soundmagic E10, Vsonic gr02, etc)

I'm in the US.  The DUNU Trident doesn't seem to be available readily here, the write-up on the E10 suggests it is more bassy than I need (I listen on a train to podcasts and rock (mostly) so bass isn't as much of a concern as the mid-range), the GR02 is 50% more than the discounted CX495 price, I am generally fond of Sennheiser regular headphones (and previously didn't hate my CX300's)and having just broken my fourth set of earbuds in the last 3 years I'm trying to find a really good deal.

Now that's a slick price for the Pro's! Build quality is top notch(for the new atleast), I honestly dont see those things breaking for a looong time. Clamping force may be a bit too much to bear though..

can't you get the GR02 on ebay??

here in Australia, i can get the GR02 shipped from HK for 28AUD with full manufacturer warranty.

EDIT: just went to eBay US website and its 35USD shipped.

the GR02 is just like the GR07 sound signature wise, and it sounds really really good for 30 bucks.
