I became interested in the UE700 purely for their drivers, the Knowles TWFK, which costs a lot by itself.
 
After I bought it (with the intent to break it), I was pleasantly surprised by their lucid, dry open mids, exceeding the CK10, falling short only in the bass.
 
So, I tend to overlook the quality issues, if the cable breaks don't throw it away, it's the best balanced armature driver around used in many custom IEM's.

are these the same drivers that are in the TF10s?

Probably not, at least they would be tuned differently.
TF10 is triple BA, ue700 is dual armature only.

i know that, but they could have the same tweeter or midrange speaker for all we know
