I've heard this for years. You can still hear it sometimes in Jamaica. Some of the bands that play resorts used to play it as well but haven't heard them do it in quite a while.

OOOOHHHHH. So what are the Sundaras like sound wise? I loved my HE-6s, HE-400s, and HE-500s. Most of the headphones that Hifiman has put out recently are only so so. I hated the HE-560, and HEX.

I would say it's like a better enhanced version of the 400i. Airy highs, lush mids, a little bit too forward for my liking but those who like the 400i will enjoy the Sundara. Sub-bass is a little better, with more extension. Overall, neutral is the word to describe them, but not in a (bad) way where it's completely flat.

I heard/read that the sundara are more a side grade to the 400i with some (not all) preferring the 400i still depending on your tuning preference, and a few saying the main upgrade is build.
Not heard them though so can't say for definite.

Yep, looks interesting and apparently uses the same amp modules as the 150/200.
It’s gonna have to be something really special if I were to get it, I’ve still got the regular 200 as well as the Ti. I’ve been playing around (or trying to but working away from home) with the 200 and Mojo.
Might have this rigged into my HiFi and use the Ti for head gear.
Tried the Ti coax to Mojo to my WA2 with the SR1 and was blown away by that, so hoping for a similar result with my HiFi using the regular 200/Mojo.
Might see if I can get a demo unit of Chords Qutest dac later this year and give that a run with the 200 into my HiFi if all’s well with the Mojo. I’ve got a feeling all will be more than well when I set this lot up lol
Hopefully Ibasso will be at London’s Canjam this summer, so if your over, then we can check out the 220.......if you haven’t already got it by then lol
It’s certainly a nice looking dap, it was quite a while after the 200 release when they released the Cu/Ti units and the Cu are even rarer than the Ti.....hens teeth come to mind.
Are you tempted

Do it ...as you well know I dream of a Hugo2 lol

Depends on each tastes I guess. I know I prefer the LCD 2Classics more than the Sundaras. A little too bright and neutral for my liking.

Well I agree there the 400i are definitely not warm and gooey lol

Hahaha, good to have you back btw. Been seeing your cables, they look amazing! Hoping to see your project become a small business for you.

See this is what I don't like about the direction that Hifiman is going. I had the original HE400 and it was so good for an inexpensive pair of headphones. I tried the 400i and found that it didn't match the greatness of the 400. The sound signature wasn't my cup of tea. A lot more comfortable than the older HEs though. I'm going to pass.
