i know he is. but he said once his order ships on oct 11, it will 'probably take another 2 weeks to reach him'. i'm asking why delivery will take 2 weeks when it is only taking a few days.

Well, you never know...I'm 4th batch and got a shipping notification on the 27th and now over a week passed...and nothing. And ibasso isn't responding to my email now. Wonderful service.

I'm guessing that if they actually ship my unit Monday, I might receive it just a day under two weeks.

It will get in 2-3 days but mp4nation also restocks from ibasso, so unless they have units left from the 4th batch you might have to wait one more week until they actually get new stock from the 5th batch. For some reason they don't mention when it's out of stock but it usually is. I guess they sell everything they get pretty fast because it's cheaper than straight from ibasso's site and you get free shipping and free iems.

Just in case anyone loses their battery cover like I did, you can order one from ibasso for $8 + shipping. For me, airmail was $5. Can't believe I somehow lost my cover during class -_-.

Having the D12, it depends how you pair it; either as a transport through the coax out-in or just the LO-LI and yes the dual dacs make a huge difference in the sonic representation for both setups, the more revealing being that dac option.

do you think purchasing a D12 is a good idea pairing with DX50? will the amp section of the D12 can drive cans with higher ohms (HD650, HD800, DT990 250)? how wwas the SQ of the DX50 with and without D12?

Some pictures of my portable DX-50 setup with $5 case (bought at US store called "FiveBelow").

Had to cut a piece out to allow access to the Headphone output:

OTG connector access no problem:

DX-50 out of case for access to controls:

USB Flash drives held onto the back by the belt clip. Two 128 Gb USB drives along with 64 Gb Micro SD cards allow for 300Gb + storage:

Between my FLAC, MP3 and hi-rez files, the 300 Gb is almost full! The iem is a AKG K3003...

That's what I did, I wanted to use the DX50 with the D12 in coax mode (a desktop like setting). The D12 has two gain settings, I don't know about driving the ones you mentioned but I can drive the HD600 with no problem. Here is how I grade the SQ from better to worst:
DX50 Coax Out -> D12 Coax In
DX50
DX50 LO -> D12 LI
Some how when connected through the D12 LI I did not feel an improvement, the DX50 alone was better. From the Coax though it was the reverse, I felt the combination more detailed at all frequency levels, specially the mids.

Note that for the level I listen to, the DX50 can drive the HD600 by itself. I am happy leaving it at 230 for my listening comfort. The other advantage of using the D12 is the USB connectivity which SQ is as good as the coax setup above.

  how so? mine was batch 4. shipped on the advertised date 27/9 and arrived 2 business days after that

Right.  Mine is batch 4.  I paid for it on 18 Sep 2013.

Mine got to Cincinnati a few hours ago.  Maybe I will see it on Monday or Tuesday.

So, 10 or 11 days to get mine while everyone else has had theirs for a week.  We all paid the same price for shipping and mine still isn't here.

Actually I am going to email them next and ask for a partial refund on my shipping charges.  I paid the same $22.00 shipping as everyone else and mine still isn't here.

Clever setup, that's what I call a frugal audiophile.

I was thinking of doing the same thing and use my old over sized iPhone 4 case but the DX50 is just too thick, I am hoping to get a case at one point, so tired of using an old iPod Video silicon case that is still a little too small. I am keeping my eyes opened for an unusual one.
