I'm running lurker with android 6. Most issues is just little things. I run tidal through uapp with usb audio. USB audio seems to be finicky. sometimes electrical devices don't like to play nice with me. Sq though is fantastic.
@CoiL Are we still talking about the DX50 here ? I presume @madmanmatt is confusing with the DX150.

My software is rock solid. I want to get mine modded like you've done but I'm no good with a soldering iron. Where do I get that custom software from?
I think if You read backwards, there should be some user uploaded links, maybe they are still working, idk.
If You have no luck, tell here, someone will upload it again.

But honestly, DX50 is mostly limited by hardware components as when I tried modded DX50 with latest FW, it sounded very similar to SU 1.3.3 @ FLAC-only/IIR off/CPU default. But I still slightly prefer Sound Unlocked 1.3.3 FW and I use only FLAC anyway.

Hello Paul, my dx50's headphone amp died. How hard is that to fix and how much for parts? Preamp out still works after replacing jack with pigtail cord. (3.5mm jacks should never be soldered directly to circuit boards - 100% eventual failure). (64 yrs old w/ 50 yrs electronics exp.)
Thanks

Why don't you just contact ibasso directly? They should be able to give you a better answer. Also, they are active here, so maybe you PM Paul https://www.head-fi.org/members/paul-ibasso.415799/

How do You know exactly what part died? Maybe it`s capacitors? Maybe amp chip? Maybe software playing "tricks"? Have You tried hard reset with RKBatchTool?

After 5yrs,I am now realizing that the DX50 is the most powerful portable amp that I own. It helps a lot now that I stream music much more these days.

Power on,line out to a usb-c to 3.5mm dongle and it becomes an amp. Gain is functional too.

@CoiL & @cholero tried it too with my DX50's LO connected to an AP80. The DX50 LO acts as line-in but there is no volume control only gain control (makes sense since volume control is digital on DX50). Weird no one else mentioned this after aroud 7 years with the DX50 😮. Do all devices with LO work like this - maybe someone who is well versed in amplifier circuitry can answer this 🤔? I know the LO of the Walnut V1 which I own can act as Line In in amplifier mode - the DX50 is doing the same thing without analog volume control - volume is controlled through the input device (the Hidizs AP80 in my case)
