Ath im70 works quite good. A little waiting time to get them from Japan but for 70-100 euro you can't beat them

When is the new firmware coming?

The wait is so painful...

Why so serious?

My DX50 is working fine, not had any problems with any playback or operation. I'm in no rush to do anything apart from listen to music on it.

It's painful for me because I really want the USB DAC function ASAP! I haven't got another DAC to listen to music with my computer unfortunately.

If I was to purchase the DX50,
Which OTG Cables and Portable Hard Drive would you guys recommend?

Also, will the Fiio E17 pair well with the DX 50?

I wouldn't recommend using the OTG at all because it drains the DX50 battery way too fast to be practical on the go (ironic seeing as OTG stands for On The Go). It would be better to get a 128GB micro SD or multiple 64GB micro SDs if you need space.

Thinking to have new IEM for my DX50, currently I'm using SE215. So far synergy between bright of DX50 and warm of SE215 produce .."OK sound (7/10)".
Tried to pair with RHA-MA750, the sound become so bright, loose the weight and thin.

Any suggestion warm IEM but have good detail for my DX50 (without ext amp)? smooth, little bit laid back
Bugdget <$150, music preference all kind of jazz
In my radar : TDK BA200 (I never listen dual balanced), RE400, GR07 MKII......

I like the Vsonic GR07 bass edition with the DX50! I have the se215s as well and they sound good but I use them for the gym and mowing the lawn..

Oh I know, I'm not worried about the battery. I would only be using the DX50 in the house not out in public on the go.

Would this portable drive work?

If yes, what OTG cable would you recommend?

If there's any interest, DOC2008 has another DX90 port

translated using google ....

X50 SOUND EXPLOSION BY DOC2008

- Based on DX90 v2.0.5 firmware
- Android has disabled participation in the processing of sound. now sound without distortion from the player goes directly to the DAC
- Supports all audio formats and works gapless
- Ideal for uncompromising sound DX50

- Flash of all time

loaded this up......first impressions using HO: there is a considerable difference here with detailing, clarity and soundstage, tightness all improved! (I am not using EQ with this and what I found to be 1.2.8 honkiness is no longer present). Using my ER-4s as usual. Not tested the Sen' HD600 yet.  But so far.......a step up with overall clarity.

With very complex mixes elements are less confused or muddled. (alterntive/rock styles especially). Reverb decays are easier to discern and layering is better.

DOC2008, well done!  But a few things really bug me about using this firmware. Is it possible to eliminitate the nasty click at start up through IEM? It really is very nasty and does not exist on stock 1.2.8.

Please, please (if you can) restore the DX-50 splash screen, I don't want to see DX-90 because it's a DX-50 after all, and I like my DX-50:)

remove the DX-90 features that are irrelevent to DX-50 (filters)

Anyway, I am not really into using third party firmwares but for testing so far I like what this does when audio is going straight to the DAC.

Well done!

Nice to read that! im installing on my dx50 today, but im using the LO with an fiio e12 (which transforms the dx50 in a much clearer and powerfull DAP)
will test it after and before the update

Also, try it without E12 if your earphones don't need the power. This is where I feel this firmware has made the most difference....the HO.
