The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
Feb 16, 2014 at 4:01 AM Post #11,491 of 18,652
This will be the last time I ever post in here. After posting I intend to remove this thread from my subscriptions feed, I know there's certain people who find my presence on this thread unwanted. I'm only posting this as a means of foreclosure. For whoever cares if you hit THIS LINK you'll be taken to a thread I started some time ago concerning the DAP industry. The post describes my final views on the DX50 as well as some of my units UI problems finally being solved while some of the more minor bugs still persist. As it is, I consider myself lucky that after weeks of waiting my unit is finally stable enough tO be usable. At least I can now say my money didn't go down the drain wasted on a non functioning DAP.

SanDisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 Micro SD Card with SD Adapter - Frustration-Free Packaging by SanDisk http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0084DWD4Q/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_GS5.sb0ER6EV3

SanDisk micro 64gb for £27. It's been around £35 for a few months so this is a proper bargain.

For you DX50 users looking for inexpensive storage options.

Thanks - price increased to £28 something but I bought my first one at £43.

Order placed for a second one

And again DOC2008 makes yet another modded FW update ...

DX50_MIX_V2_BY_DOC2008

Quote by DOC2008:
 - From more than 20 options to choose this as having the most natural sound. the reference devaysom played my iQube V2 Headphone Amp / DAC ($ 500) which is characterized by natural feed without sound coloration.

PS Who says that differences in sound in different firmware - self-hypnosis, just do not hear the difference. Personally, I can hear the difference very well.
PSS Write reviews about the firmware.

Well, I had some free time on my hands and decided to give the 1.2.8 modded with the 1.2.2 sound libs a spin… and, personally, I'm VERY glad that I did, I really like this very very much

(but 1.2.2 was probably my personal favorite FW). Doc2008 said that he managed to capture only about 70% of 1.2.2, so I guess that it could get better, but I most certainly do like it very much, and I would like to extend my personal heartfelt thanks to Doc2008 for his efforts, and to SergeKo for first posting about this.

Only thing that I do not like too much is the font, from a purely aesthetic point of view (but I can definitely live with it

!).

V2 is based on v.1.2.8 with some sound libs imported from 1.2.5 and 1.2.6

I think we all agree that.... doc2008 is the man!
 Thanks again

Are you all nuts, you know if you brick your DX50, you will have to deal with the loss. Don't try getting iBasso involved, they won't help and your 239$ investment will be down the drain.

@DOC2008: I want to make sure I get this straight, first you provided the stock font, and then used the sound library components with your specified version up there. Do you know why we are getting a handle error while flashing the firmware? Also, after flashing, the version number does not change correct?

It's your own choice to flash custom firmware or not. there is no danger for your device. about 50 000 users are using my custom firmware on different devices. no one has received a "brick" due to my firmware

specify your question, please

I have flashed my DX50 about 50 times with my firmware without any error

Also, after flashing, the version number does not change correct?
