Interesting... I think 1.2.6 was my favourite in terms of SQ, but I'm not sure that it was better than 1.2.8 as that seemed pretty good. Downloading now to see how I get on with it.. thanks for posting!

I've installed the custom firmware.... well, it works ok, it won't brick your player. Whether or not I can tell the difference in SQ (between 2.6 and 2.8) or not is still a pretty close call. I still think I prefer 1.2.6. Just a little wider soundstage perhaps? And a smidgen clearer. But - could well be my ears playing tricks on me. I'll stick with this for now I think, but I don't think I can whole heartedly recommend changing for the sake of any dramatic improvements..
 
I look forward to the 1.2.2 based version though - I never tried that out because of the bugginess, but keen to this time around...

That's what I was thinking, but has anyone tried this case yet? I saw one member post pictures, but I haven't seen it again and there was no feedback.

You can buy from ido.com.vn, it costs around $30 but if you get it directly from the manufacturer, it will only cost you $10 - $15.
