Well my DX50 is back -thanks to AMP3 for pulling out all the stops (4 day turn around) brilliant after sales/warranty service. Now all I've gotta do is burn it in again!
Got my B1 paired with it at the moment and it ain't half bad at all !!
Thanks to Swannie007 also while I'm on this thread for the magnet mod and goodbye to rubber bands ! Yes I did use glue as I didn't plan on getting rid of any gear in the near future

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told to keep magnet away from electronic devices (though even the iPad has magnet cover, so I'm not so sure about that)).

It works fine as far as i can see and there are no artefacts on my screen. I know that on an old crt type screen speakers were a no-no unless they were shielded (basically a double magnet if memory serves me ). As im using a magnet on each unit it is in principle shielded, and new screens are lcd, led or oled it should be fine.

3M dual lock low profile works just as well and is fully reversible with no marks

Can I get a link to this magical magnet mod you speak of?

I've got to agree with you there, but as I have no intention of selling any of my gear at the moment it won't be an issue. I also found out that assetone will remove the glue too. (Just in case I need to remove any residue).

I'm not sure mod was the word I should of used but more of a pleasing look to my rig may have been a better choice of words.
(See post 1164 of the New Cayin C5 portable powerhouse thread).

No I can't say I knew about this one. I got 15mm neodymium magnets from eBay and glued them as they won't be removed any time soon.

I've only had my DX50 back since Fri. night so I'm still burning it in unfortunately. :headphones: The B1 is certainly sounding great though! I'm gonna have to give it about a week to settle on before I can say for sure. One thing I'm certain of is it improves on the internal amp in the DX50 and that was pretty good to begin with! It seems to be wider but I can't say for sure about the separation at the moment.

Firmware 1.9.2 appears to have a bug regarding Playlists.
Every song with a single tick in the string as in

/mnt/external_sd/Sniff 'n' the Tears/Fickle Heart/01 Driver's Seat.flac

will be ignored on import and on export as well.

If this song is on the DX50 already, you can add it to the playlist using the internal "add to playlist" [+] just fine.

The firmware appears to have an issue if the playlist name is different from "playlist1" as well. I created a playlist on my PC named Headphone.

DX50 imported it except for songs with a single tick in the character string. Then I added the "missing songs" internally. When I exported that playlist, the resulting m3u file was empty.

Cheers.

iDSD combo - the iDSD micro arrived several days ago and is actively burning-in. Soon I will post some initial impressions on the DX50 - iDSD Micro combo and some comparison of the DX50 sound(using diff. FW) and the combo with iDSD micro.

Hi guys, anyone knows how to go back with the stock firmware (last one obviously) from Rockbox. I did this in the past but I can't find that guide.

I'm currently doing a review of the FiiO X3 II and I would like to make a comparison with the DX 50 but with the original software.

Thank you in any case :)
