i had no idea that it had a 20000 song limit. My flac files are large.
Searching is a painn but semi managable at 8000 songs
What card are you using to store your library?

I'm trying to fix this, but it will take a lot of time. Updating database stop exactly on 20000 step?

P.S. Seems I've found how to fix this, now I updated my media database with 26381 tracks. I extended limit to 40000 tracks.)

I use a SanDisk 400GB card and I mostly use MP3s (at 320kBit/s) and some OGG files...

How did you extend the limit?
I assume you binary patch the firmware or the hiby_music binary?
But how did you find out where to patch?

Firmware 2.1 (Custom) with 65000 limit and other my corrections:

    2.1 International ver. (from Kickstarter);
2.1 Chinese ver. (from JD and so on, rename the file to r3.upt before updating)

I haven't really tested all the functions that they work normally. If you faced with problems, please, PM me.

Does anyone use the EQ? If so does your sound become distorted upon every boot or is it just me?
  9. bassct
I use MSEB and EQ. EQ does drop sound volume by a few dbs, but no distortion.

Really nice - I can confirm, that the limit has been raised - it now scans and detects all of my 28.000 songs - awesome!:sunglasses:
BTW, what are your "other corrections"?
On thing I notice is the possibility to switch on ADB in "System settings/USB mode" which is also wonderful as it should allow to open a remote shell on the device (currently not tested, though)

Please, could you tell me how you found out where the limit is and how you raised it?
It would really be nice if you would share your knowledge a bit... :nerd:

    Changes regarding the stock version:
    1. corrected translation (Russian and English (I did what I could)),
    2. replaced the font with a new one from XVortex,
    3. customized both themes (some pictures, icons, their locations, etc. were replaced), increased font size in some places. Main screen in second theme is based on the Hexagon theme from Steven Van Geert (see FB HiBy topic),
    4. repaired choosing colors sliders in the second theme,
    5. added a stepcounter to the side menu,
    6. added adb (it's really useful and working properly),
    7. replaced the index page when connected to PC via Wi-Fi (now always in English), plus changed sort order (folders go first, then files, in order of names: at the beginning the numbers, then Latin, then Russian) and following file formats have been added: upt, txt, log, and t,
    8. added a radio to the top bar and replaced the built-in radio stations with my own (40 stations), others you can persanally add to radio.txt file and put it in the root of your sd card,
    9. all binary files have been striped,
    10. optimized all *png files,
    11. removed unnecessary files and folders that are not used,
    12. extend database limit to 65000.

The limit I've found in hiby_player binary of course with Hex editor: 20 4E (4E 20 = 20000 in dec.), so I changed it to E8 FD (FD E8 = 65000 in dec.). You really need to know this?

    Sorry guys, what is ADB?

  13. Snoopy112
Android Debug Bridge (adb) is a command-line tool that lets you communicate with a device.

Thank you so much! Your FW works really nice so far. You should charge hiby for your efforts. The added radio option is a nice touch.:beerchug:

    Maybe add Chromecast support?
