Simplicity & portability at its best :)
Really enjoy streaming Tidal function with something this small. Hopefully 1 of the 2 streaming services coming soon will be Spotify too.

It drives them but not adequately i have a sennheiser Hd650 and beyerdynamic Dt770..that i use......all the headphones on my signature are long gone
R3 on its own drives my HD600 and custom DT770 Pro 80 ohm at around 80-90 volume level. I only have FiiO A3 amp, when it’s connected to the R3 I normally put the dial between 6-7 and R3 volume at around 70s.

Are people finding the gapless option works for them? Switched it on (it's off by default!) & I'm getting noticable gaps a fair amount of the time. Files I've cut up myself admittedly, but I take care (Sector Boundaries, etc., not that that should matter) & never had trouble on my previous player (running Rockbox).

...nobody? Now tried it on FLACs from sources other than myself, & a variety of bitrates, still getting a gap...

if im not mistaken the R3 has line out function, even tho its not true line out it should be better option to use with amps rather than adjusting volume yourself..try it

also regarding the line out function, has anyone with hiby R3 tried it with their car audio( through AUX)?
50% of my listening time would be in my car...hopefully sounds good

Yes I run mine through AUX and it sounds awesome. Just a quick swipe down and line out is right there. Sounds better than the Sony ZX300 from AUX. Of course I could only use the SE out from the zx300.

But yes I’m very pleased for car use.

HD6XX alone through SE R3 gives reasonable volume at max, however still struggles for most of my classical tracks.
iDSD BL/external amp is definitely needed. Nothing surprising though as R3 wasn’t meant to drive these type of cans.

Unfortunately I didn’t have a 3.5mm cable for the HD800s, but considering the R3 pairing with Hd6XX I’m sure R3 would be able to drive HD800s better than the 6XX.

This is how I'll be using the R3. Did you also try hooking in via USB? Just wondered if you noticed a difference. Also curious which DAC is better to use.

Sorry nope, the only USB cable I have is only for the BL to PC and iPhone.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I’m in the same boat. They probably didn’t have enough cables so they held our orders up just like they did for the case. Had I known, I would not have added the cable since I can easily get one next day delivery from Amazon. Just really bad planning and very unfair to those of us who supported the campaign early. They must be new to the internet. There’s nothing you can hide from the internet.

To think I added the cable to help them out because at the time, I was eager to support them. Wow, talk about backfire.

Just an update. I sent Hiby a note on Kickstarter and they responded with my DHL tracking#. I was assuming I would be receiving a direct e-mail from them with that info. but I haven't yet. Now the waiting game begins as to how soon it will clear customs and ship out of Hong Kong. I should hopefully have it sometime in July.

@Joe Bloggs Hey, can you take a look into why there are so many units that simply have their shipping information available in the DHL w/o any additional information? Are they waiting on the leather cases?
My information was provided on the 19th, but there has been no update and it's now the 27th.

I am in the same boat. At this point Hiby should let us know what the delay is. It is obvious to me nothing has actually been shipped. I can be patient when I am given correct info. When I get excuses and a misinformation runaround, it becomes difficult to be patient. Hiby needs to tell us what is really going on.
