Audio-technica ath-MSR7's drivers. One of them killed by me, another is still working. I bet that m70x has the same drivers.

Revox Synergy

Driver is actually glued in, so nothing too fancy today.
Got lucky with the crumbly sticky foam, and almost all of it came off cleanly.

Different to the DT990, the rear plastic grill/cover is replaced with a simple mesh screen.

Just dt880 driver design with 2 resistors and old-beyer style mash on the front IMO.

Difficult to really know which it is, since the 770/880/990 drivers are visibly indentical and have remained largely unchanged for the past 30+ years.
All we can say for sure is that the Synergy has a clear resemblance to the DT990, which also uses the same resistors, which is why these are often the two most closely compared, despite each variant having a clearly varying sound.
IIRC the 990 uses the rear dust-cap/filter thing, which also has an affect on the sound.

Surely there's a way to repair a break like that? I thought you could buy conductive glue that might mend a wire, even if it's the thickness of hair.

Is it just me, or does it seem like you end up with a lot of ruined drivers? I don't know where you find them.

I tried to repair it but it was very hard as the disintegrated foam made it impossible to view anything.

Yes, I do have a proven track record of ruining Drivers to put on my wall of shame.

Revox Synergy

the same resistors,

I think the ZPY components are zener diodes, there should be a number on one side showing the breakdown voltage. With a reverse bias facing each direction they normally do nothing, until their breakdown voltage is reached, then they start to conduct and bypass the driver, clipping the output. This may be either to protect the driver from excess voltage or to limit sound pressure level for ear protection in risky environments (studio or live recording).

Left: Just a cheap 50mm from a terrible headset (for comparison)
Right: Qpad QH-85 50mm driver
(Same driver as Takstar Pro 80 and HyperX Cloud)

AKG K619
Standard cheapy chinese driver found in other AKGs, but I thought the weird damping and
rubber tuning thing on the back of the magnet housing was interesting.

what does the AKG sound like without the stopper?
Am I correct in noticing it hits the cup rears and also possibly stops some vibrations kinda?

Yes, the rubber thing does make contact with the back of the cups, as do the 5 screws which hold it in place. Plenty of vibrations being stopped there.
With the rubber thing in place, bass has a deep thunderous, almost boomy quality.
Without the rubber thing, it feels like someone turned down the sub-woofer, and it doesn't dig quite as deep. It's more dry and kinda boring since the mids are so weaksauce in either configuration.

Mids are where the magic happens too.
(^ semi-useless comment lol )
