The HeadAmp GS-X and GS-X MK2 Thread

Do you guys know whether it is possible to buy additional faceplates / volume pot for the MK2? I've already tried emailing HeadAmp about it, had no reply at all.
There was some discussion a while back on that and I believe Justin—at that time—said he had no plans of selling them separately. Can’t remember how long ago that was though.

Yes we can, sometimes. I can't find your email, I answered a similar question today about the GS-X mini though, if that was you.

Man, reading the old discussions is such a great blast from the past. It's just odd that some people vehemently blamed this amp for supposedly making the HD800 sound too bright when in reality they are really bright headphones that need some form of physical mod or EQ to smoothen the treble peaks.
haha that headphone is always being a lovely problematic child

Anyone feeding a RCA source into the GSX mk2 via XLR inputs ?
Does this give any advantage in power output ?
Any advice on pin numbers on the XLR inputs ?
Thank you

There's no advantage if you're just using adapters. The GS-X mini will convert single ended to balanced.

use Xlr out to xlr in gsx mk2. Even if it’s an se dac like chord TT as an example. That’s the only way to utilize the architecture properly. Ideally the dac itself should be balanced, from a pure architecture perspective if the dac is se you should user rca out. Xlr adds an analogue component that’s unnecessary in conversion in se dacs. Buthogwash I say, xlr out into gsx is the way to go.
