Had a similar problem and in my case the yggy was sending a bit of DC out the single ended outputs. Whenever DC is present to a volume pot you will hear a scratching noise. You might want to hook up the yggy to a different amp just to check.I meant the input side SE, not the headphone side.
1) No volume step noise: Yggy -> XLR -> GSX
2) Volume step noise: Yggy -> SE -> GSX

Ahh thanks!!! I just checked my Yggy's SE out and the left channel had 4.3V on it and less than 1mV on the right! Time to get it looked at...
I'm very confident that there's just a minor tweak needed to resolve it - i should already have enough information but let me know if you experience any difference with different cables (XLR ones) as i only have the stock XLR cable here right now for the HD800S.
Hi Justin, any news about the solution or tweaks needed to solve the issue? Would basically like to know what sort of category this falls in, and if I'll eventually be able to fix it myself with some indications or spare parts from you.
Is there any harm in leaving an adapter plugged into the jack which is not actually connected to any headphones?
Namely, I use a dual 3-pin XLR male to 4-pin XLR female adapter in order to use two headphones plugged in at the same time. It's much more convenient to leave the adapter permanently plugged in if possible...

No, it's just 1 more connection between your amp/headphones, though. Is there any harm in leaving an adapter plugged into the jack which is not actually connected to any headphones?
True. In this case, I'm willing to tolerate the extra load on my audiophile nervosa in the name of convenience.

No, none.

What is the wait time for one of these amps ?
Here is the HeadAmp site.
I though they used to show the estimated wait time (+/- 4 weeks) but I no longer see the wait time?

Not long. We are usually able to deliver within a week or 2. HeadAmp is much faster on order turn around times now

We don't quote a lead time on the page any more because the GS-X is no longer in a back-ordered state. You currently order one and get one

Hi Peter,
Can you please advise if there is a possibility to switch the voltage between 115V and 220V without sending the amp to HeadAmp (I did forum search regarding this but got zero results)? And if yes, how it can be done. Will this void the warranty?
There is a big chance that I will be moving to Europe this summer for 2 year assignment. If voltage switching is possible I will keep my GS-X mk2 and take it with me to Europe, otherwise I have to sell it to finance new amplifier purchase.
Thank you.

Thank you.
Please email us (sales@headamp.com), and we'll discuss your options, but we most likely should be able to get you voltage converted and maintain the warranty.
