Eeeeeeeee..haaaaaaa.... proud new owner of the HD555.

I went for them despite many people complaining how "laid back" it was and not good for the trance/dance/techno/rock style of music that I listen to.

BUT PLEASE, ANYONE OUT THERE CONSIDERING THIS... GO GET THEM.

Earlier there were 120ohm Impedance version, which gave people this impression I think.
The new 50ohms Impedance version are truly awesome. They have 3D surround sound reflector... something like that , which will blow you away.

The Mids are just perfect and crystal clear, the Bass perfect unless you expect explosions in your ears, the highs not too high that they pierce your ear drums.

Guess my instinct drove me to them.. I love em'

!!!!

P.S.: I forgot to mention all this unamped from my iriver H340.... so imagine if you add an amp to this equation

I just got the 50 ohm 555's as well and love them. This is also unamped out of either my Zen Touch or my Iriver H120. One thing I noticed is that the 555's more than any other headphone I ever bought has a burn in that I could hear and it scared me a little because they were great out of the box although they seriously sucked with any real rock music but at about 20 hours or so they got very "mushy" for lack of better words and everything kind of sounded smashed together but at about 40-50 hours they got a lot of definition back and I'm at about 100 hours and they sound great and even rock is more than acceptable. Everything is just "right". Good bass that doesn't push itself in front of the music and the mids and highs that I am sensitive to are not too subtle but they are not shrill. The notes that are suppose to cut do but they don't hurt my ears. I have to use a little EQ though. I don't know how anyone could listen to them out of a portable with no EQ. I haven't heard a lot of different headphones so I can't compare them but they sound great to me.

HI: Congrats on your new 555. This is really great news for me. I have a pair of 555 on the way to use for my late night TV listening out of my strong stereo receiver headphone jack. I have been using the Koss UR-40 and am hoping the 555 will be much better at this. It seems that no other member has the 555 and UR-40 to do a comparison. Good luck with your new cans.

I have the 555's and the 600's. I got the 600's refurbed for about $60 more than I paid for the 555's. There is no comparison to these ears. The 555's sound muffled and veiled. The 600's can be a little too revealing at times however.
