The hate on beats, why?

Yeah, they're fine for people who don't mind seeing the pictures, but for those who would rather read the rest of the thread, scrolling through a number of hi-res pictures would make it a bit inconvenient for them.
and loading on a slow mobile connection is a pain with high res pics...

Those ATH W1000X cans look great. Forgive me for bashing Beats again but why follow the herd when there are so many other interesting and arguably better choices out there for the same money?

Whether you're following the herd or avoiding it, you're letting the herd dictate your actions.

Here's a crazy idea: why not just check out a product, and if you like it for whatever reason... get it, REGARDLESS of "the herd".

That's actually the thing that drives me the craziest. Worse than "omg Beetz are the best in the WOOORLD" are the ones who think it is absolutely impossible for someone to buy Beats because they think they're worth buying. Like if you have a pair "omg you're just a sheep". Please. Grow up.

Heard of cows? Don't have one.

Wonder if Apple re- brand beats as iBeats?
biggrin.gif

I doubt it, Apple already knows the important of brand identity. Beats has a very strong identity as a brand (the "iconic" look, the name, and the sound stage) and it already makes a lot of money. I think Apple will sit on the brand identity but might improve the sound of the headphones (or so we can hope). I doubt they'll change the appearance or branding any time soon (except for maybe limited edition or special edition versions).

Hmm... Ibeats... Lol. What if they put the beats logo on the apple ibuds? And beats audio on the iPhone? And beats audio on computers, tv's, etc... Ah apple and beats. Two common consumer products. A match from heaven.

doubtful that apple will improve the headphones. They'll hire something like sennheiser, Harman, Beyerdynamic, etc if they are smart. I doubt the sound will improve purely through apple intervention though. If they do improve, then expect beats studios to cost 400$ instead of 300$. That's apple. Making things that don't even remotely compete with its adversaries, yet somehow outselling them. Ex:1,600$ Macintosh, 600$ iphone, 300$ iPod touch. Better alternative: 1,600$ Alienware or other gaming computer(or if you want the equivalent of a 1,600$ Macintosh, you can buy a 500$ desktop windows or Linux. By equivalent, I mean speed.) 400$ Nexus 5, and FiiO X3/5, Hifiman music player... Etc.

Dude, please shut your yap again about this. Your ignorance vis a vis Apple/computer products is nosebleed worthy. You're a teenager with limited experience in low-price merchandise who justifies what he owns by saying the more expensive products are overpriced crap. You argued with me that Macs didn't have Steam on them when Steam has been available on Mac for YEARS. I really do not want to get into this again, because you poison threads with the absolute nonsense you spout on matters you are completely not educated on. You do not know what you are talking about here. Period. Please stop.

I will say this, Apple would be an incredibly stupid, stupid company to buy Beyer or Sennheiser over Beats. Let's think here. Sennheiser, the most successful of the three, pulls about $350mil in their consumer electronics division (that's all consumer electronics, not just headphones). Beats, on the other hand, pulls in $1.5 billion, and ALL they have is headphones and speakers.

to be fair, your entire mac argument is invalid since you can just build a high-end pc for half the cost then put mac os on it.

But yea, as far as buying companies, beats is clearly the best option. Although something like klipsch or bose has a better reputation, even though it's the same overpriced stuff. More people think of bose & klipsch as high end rather than beats. So if they came out with high-end stuff, it'd be much more believable.

No you can't. I mean yeah you can do a Hackintosh but it's not exactly supported. OSX is only licensed for use on Apple products and it's not really guaranteed that it'll work like the genuine article.

But yeah, people on here look too hard at what is a "good headphone" and not what's a "good business decision". It'd be like if Apple bought Stax or Audeze. It'd be suicide.

Since we're all picking a side, I'm picking the side of Hapster and Dischordd, I'd rather build my own and select my own OS.

I think that nothing will really change about beats, they'll probably keep the same models.
