The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

You guys get clipping in Lamar's DNA? I don't EQ at all and regardless what headphones I use (TH-X00, Meze 99 Classic, AudioQuest Nightowl, Oppo PM-3) or what source I use to play (DP-X1, SE or balanced, Mojo) or files (FLACs or Tidal Hi-Fi) the result is the same: burpy bass. Here might be an explanation why:

You guys get the same result or is it that all my equipment is useless?

PS: second half of the song is where it's at

I just tried DNA in 3 different headphones (ATH-WS770iS, HFI-580, and SZ2000) through my iFi iDSD. I gave each one about 90 seconds, didn't hear anything like clipping.

Edit* Is there a particular point in the song you hear it, or throughout the whole song?

2nd Edit* I see from your link it's the second half of the song, I'll go try it.

3rd and Final Edit*  The second half of that song is a mess, lol. Horribly engineered. I'm not a huge Lamar fan so I hadn't heard it yet.

I get clipping with thx00 and ican, no eq, just xbass. Definitely in the track. Sounds like garbage.

All my normal tracks sound find.

This has been happening to me a lot recently... I'll be happily listening along, to games mostly, but then some bass will happen and it clips like crazy and brings me out of the zone...really annoying. All depends on the quality of the audio engineering it seems.

My SZ2K do the same.

Bugger. I had only listened to this album on speakers in the house and really enjoyed it. Hope this problem does not bug me when I am out and about

What a bummer.
I got it too.
The prodigy of modern Hip Hop should be handled by better studio folks than that...damn.

It's very annoying as I do really like the album.

Any hardware Bass boost EQ recommendations between the DAC and my desktop tube amp? Not looking for an amp solution.

I am using Behringer FBQ800 and is decent but I think more can be done for boosting sub bass, it just has 9 bands.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MJ406Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .

Software EQ is cheaper.  You can look for the Rane Mojo MQ302S.  Or you can go the Parametric route for even more options.  Or go with car audio EQ's instead.  Cheapest option that I know of, is the DBX Gorack for 23 dollars.

This new site design blows my mind:dizzy_face:

While it looks good, I wasn't happy with the function at first, but I've got it figured out now. The only thing I miss is the reputation system. We don't get to leave any message behind like before. It's just a "Like" system like Facebook.
