I just purchased the 650s, they do sound great, but are not basshead. They hit pretty hard though for non bassheads. Of course I eq sub bass into them. Really good phones.

 Opinions based on "in the hand" are always welcome in here. It's all relative. Bass family got many branches. We extreme but we all got other gear. Love the hell out of my ma900 and those are famous for lacking in sub-bass

  because my ma900 and EX1000 can push out some bass. Plenty. Nothing to be rec'd in this thread but worth mentioning in comparison to others....it's all relative

Hey, do you guys recommend any other cup other than the brainwavz replacement ones? They're super comfortable and isolate noise, but I figure there are better bass cups out there.

The JVC HAM55x ear pads are my favorites with my SZ2000 headphones. Decent comfort, but maximum bass SLAM.

Seen some people say the omni pads from zmf are pretty good as they aren't too thick but still give enough room for your ears and are very comfortable. Seems a bit overkill to drop $60 on pads though.

^ True but on the other hand, nobody in the world except SZ series users are buying the old JVC 55x/77x anymore. They are old news now and nobody cares about em really. I wouldn't be surprised if we run out of SZ's before we run out of 55/77x's. those are $30 tops and you get a set of headphones to mess with too. And they aren't even terrible with the SZ pads!

JVC SZK with Fiio E12 and some EQ, will make you pop, I doubt any other headphone could reproduce that effect. I got the JVC 1K's and I feel like I'm in heaven daily LOL

Im planning to sell my TH600 since now I have HD800 and gonna get a good EDM headphone. I like the bass of TH600 but the treble for EDM makes me pissed

Oh too bad sz2000 cant give the best for edm. The flare iem? It is modded he said, idk why but the right driver seems louder than left one. So, i can't talk much about the mids and bass. It's not basshead iem for sure.

I can only speak of sony xb line (1k specifically, though ppl have said the 500s are better for edm), dt770 80 ohm that they do a fun job of edm. Despite all this and my research, though i do not own a pair, the 40mm ultrasone 900 seem to be the pick of many for edm.
 
I really enjoy 80s/90s dance club music, techno/edm on the 1k and 80ohm.

the xb500s are hovering in the 100US and the ultrasone 900 have dropped into the sk2k price range if you keep a close eye.

I had pro900. Maybe it's not yet burned (300hours)... the highs are sibilant to me. and the mids are missing in the cave...

Hmm that doesn't sound too pleasant. Between the 900 and 2900, the 2900 look so beautiful to me. If I had to go between the two, but ofc one is open version. Its too bad we cannot hear them all !
 
I dont find 770 80 sibilant, and the bass is there when called for
 
and very reasonably priced ATM (130ish US) which is a lot for the munnehh
