So the 2K does have the silver looking cable over the copper one on the SZ 1K.

Nice work!!! What about the sound? Greater clarity? Separation? A true balance?

Cheers!
The sound is great. A bit more like speakers in a medium sized room. I prefer the Burson opamp in the PB2 amp with the 2K JVC. The RSA amp sounds really good with the sz1k. But that might also have to do with the copper cables on the 1K. Either way nothing a little EQ can't fix.

So... what about the Kannons?
Any reviews out there?
(Sorry, I'm not lazy, I haven't had much comms since Hurricane Maria hit us (Caribbean))

Thanks.

Bro sorry to hear that, hope your cool. with all the natural disasters happening, I'm actually waiting for the big one (quake) to hit California.
While I'm waiting for the Big One to shake Northern California into the ocean, I'll have the Taction Kannon shake my head.

Bro, was wondering why you didn't go all the way and make dual entry balance. i'm just trying not to do the work and let you post some pics:grin:
I really wanted too. But I'm only working with what I have left. I'm still working on fixing my house. Almost done with putting the dry wall up. Waiting on plumber to fix some stuff.
My goal was to bi-amp the JVC. Copper cables to the woofers and silver plated to regular drivers. And a micro passive crossover in the middle somewhere.

Does the Purpleheart have the thickest bass slam out of all the TH-X00s?

Some people say the graph on Massdrop is cheese, and that Mahogany is bassier.

Anyone listened to both?

I originally ordered the mahogany but it came with a blemish on the finish so I returned it. But I did have about couple hours listening time.
During my return the purple hearts literally made a drop a day later.. so I jumped in because I love bass.

While I could not A/B them together I swear off memory the mahogany rumbled more. Could be the differences in wood density. Mahogany being less dense being easier to shake? But seriously the differences between all TH-X00 are really small. I like purple more overall based on looks.

Recently I did buy the TH-900mk2 and the purplehearts to me keep up in bass. Maybe not as refined or controlled but equally impactful and fun. I think it has to do with the TH-X00 pads because when I used the TH-X00 pads on the TH-900 boy did they rumble!
