I'm not talking about this forum's purpose mate, If your problem had been on an ipod 5G, then I'm pretty sure headfi would have known more about it than apple itself ^_^. but the X3 is a new product so asking the manufacturer's support seemed to me like the obvious way to get answers.

Ok, thanks for the input. The cables can't be swapped, and the remixing isn't really a viable option for me either (unless I keep a separate 64G card for the remixed songs, which is something that doesn't appeal to me).

Who knows, maybe channel swapping will be in a future FW update. Or maybe the X3's will be able to be rockboxed someday.

Anyway, thanks again.

I have that too and it would be nice if the X3 can have a channel swap feature (calling james )

James. Are you sure X3 gives 10 hours for all type of format? I'm still getting around 5 hours only on FLAC, low brightness and volume only at 18.

Did you charge it until the light is fully green on the status? Not until the battery indicator on the LCD is full, but until the bottom turns green

Yes, the light was green before I unplug.

I recommend doing accurate testing this time around if you didn't already do it.
 
Some formats currently are known for using a bit more power draw for some reason.
 
But first update to FW 1.23 please. It's the newest update.
 
Then try it again. 5 hours at low settings is not right.

My firmware is updated and my songs are all 16bit flacs. I'm pretty sure i'm getting only around 5 hours of play time.

Maybe use it a bit more and through a few more charge cyles and see how it pans out. Time is a funny thing?

90% of X3's users reported the battery life is about 12 hours. not sure what happened to you but it must have something wrong if it can only play 5 hours
