Hi Arielp,
i see that the post i have a question to is a little bit old  (http://www.head-fi.org/t/743704/the-fiio-x3-2nd-gen-ex-x3k-x3ii-thread-192k-24b-cs4398-native-dsd-usb-dac-with-lo-and-inline-remote/8250#post_12644499),
but i have a new X3 2nd gen.
My old one used your very nice and using readable Fonts! compiled FW.
Now the dropbox links are broken.
Is there any Chance to have a link to the required FW?

Regards
Christoph

That is the version I use from him, it is the gold and white combo he had the link to. Here is a link to the file.

When should a new version of the X3 come out?
FiiO product runs are 18 to 24 months and this is the same answer FiiO will give you.  No one knows when the next gen model will be out, but based on that timeline, it could happen any day now.

It should had happened already though

I hope it will be soon, seeing how cool X5-3 was, I can't wait to see what the new X3 and X7 will be!

I need them for musics

Looking at the players that Cayin and Shanling have released, I think Fiio has their work cut out for them

What do you mean?

(not sure if this is supposed to be read on a positive note or a negative one, I also have never touched either Cayin or Shanling DAPs)

Well, from what I've read the Cayin N3 is supposed to stomp all over the X1v2 - sound and function. Shanling M2 (maybe m2s) is supposed to be sweet as well.

The competition is heating up, Fiio's gonna need to bring their A game

I like it when competition is fierce!

Makes things interesting for us buyers!

The more competition, the fiercer, the better it is for consumers, no?

Does it support Apple Music?
Dear hcin,

If you mean apple lossless format, the X3II can support up to 192 kHz/24 bit. If you mean those are DRM, the X3II doesn't support.

Best regards

@FiiO any news on next generation X3? Shanling is coming up with their M2S for around $160 and it looks beautiful.

I really hope that FiiO does not add a volume wheel like that. Or at all

Even if we take care of a DAP, it is best to not have volume wheels if those can break.
