FiiO Releases the Final Firmware 2.0 for X1

The following changes and improvements were made to FW2.0 compared to FW1.6:
1. Added library search function: activate by holding Shortcuts button in any category or folder browsing screen; use previous / next buttons to switch between numbers and alphabet).
2. Added option to manually clear media library database file (via System Settings);
3. Added option to delete a track (outside of Now Playing);
4. Added play mode: play single track and stop;
5. Added Recently Played playlist (via Play by Category);
6. Added support for ReplayGain;
7. Added docking support to use with FiiO K5 or DK1
8. Optimized UI operation and speed;
9. Amended the EQ setting to be dynamic, so as to avoid a sudden low voice when turning on the EQ or a sudden loud voice when turning off the EQ.
10. Fixed issue with hidden files stored by a Mac OS computer accessing the cards on the X1;
11. Miscellaneous bug fixes.

Seems to be OK, apart from scaring me to death by defaulting to Chinese.  Luckily I worked out how to change it to English.

 
Hi, Toom.
The language will not be Chinese by default after updating to FW2.0. Maybe the language was not selected incorrectly at that time.
You can downgrade the X1 to FW1.61(click here), then update it to FW2.0 again. After done, you can select the language you want from the Language option interface. 
 
Anyway, glad to know you can change it to Englisth on your X1 now.

Also flashed the fw 2.0. The search by letter function is just perfect, it was the major modification this player needed also changing between tracks used to have a delay on the screen (not on the audio though) and is now much faster!

Just to stayaway from any confusions, Is this fw updt is the same as the one you recently released for "Large Text Font" ? Is this one include the Larger text font, or it's only different fw updt dld ?

The ReplayGain allows the player to adjust the volume for different tracks that have been recorded at different loudness levels. Basically it normalizes the loudness between tracks. The purpose is for you not to perceive a difference of volume, if existent, from one track to another, when the player volume is set at a given value.

Hey, nice to meet everybody. I've read some on head-fi.org but this is my first time posting. 
 
I posted this over on the Fiio forums too. I am wondering if anybody could help me out here...

I recently purchased a gold Fiio X1 last week. I updated the firmware as per the instructions, put music on a reformatted card as per the instructions, and then finally went to listen to music. Sound only comes out of the left channel in the earbuds. I tried two different pairs of earbuds and it was the same thing. Then I tried my Sennheiser HD-595s. Sound comes out from both sides this time but it sounds absolutely awful...low and slightly distorted. Tried the earbuds again and it's only the left channel.

I returned that gold X1 and got the blue one thinking maybe since it's a bit newer it will be better. Nope. Same exact thing. I had hoped that I unfortunately got a defective unit the first time around (with a bad headphone jack) but the problem still persists on the new unit.

When I go to "balance" in the options menu and attempt to move all the sound into the right channel, nothing changes or sounds different.  It still only comes out of the left channel.  

What do I do? I reset the device with the little hole inbetween the power and volume buttons. The problem remains.
