Btw mate, what's the mystery US$500 amp you have there. Kind of curious.

Name of the amp and manufacturer is seen in the second picture.

Silver plated, nice and cheap too. (be sure to pick the 0.1 meter length)

So the point is that X1 have a good line out. I like what you are hearing mate and fortunately I have a couple of warm phones to play with. Just added the E12A to the chain and burning in now to let the sound settle. The E12A isn't a cold sounding amp and works great with the X1.

Thanks guys. Was on the phone earlier and can't make out the wordings. On my PC now looking for some pure silver line out cable. Have had good experiences with onest11 cables but would be good if I can look into other options. Would appreciate some suggestions that I can look into. Thanks in advance.

I haven't personally found a better souding pure silver cable than onest11, when I use it with my DX50 / JDS C421 / ER4S = *mind explosion*

Some were saying the guy who took over from Chrishimself pure silver cables are 'better' (forget his name)

In other news, my X1 mainly stays paired with GR07 MK2 these days. Nice and cosy, smooth, great for long listening.

Thanks mate for the lead. Will look into it shortly and hopefully can get some information..

Seems like both are using solid core cable if I recalled correctly about Chrishimself's cable but could be wrong though.

If a 256GB micro sd card came out, would the X1 be capable of playing it - is it the firmware that would need updating, or is it a hardware issue?

instead of hypothetical question about probable compatibility with a card that would cost an arm and doesn't exist. how about a X5 and 2 128gb cards? that's an actual possibility and I'm not sure it would really cost much more in the end.

Could have two 128GB cards for the X1 too...I was just wondering. As you do
