It would be better if they called them "Game Set Match!"
DEUCE is kind of...can't decide where you are...
The above title would suggest that it's a winner!

Cheers!

P.S. You forgot that Basilico goes on Margherita, too. :)

Frankly, if I have to be honest, even just looking at the latest purchases (S12-24, ESTRELLA, SR9, Dynaquattro)
I don't expect to be left speechless.
But maybe I'm wrong.

Orange light for me, all the tracks are also listed as FLAC when I play them? Maybe I misunderstand here

Do you have the MQA decoder enabled in the audio settings?
And are you using it as a DAP (without an external dongle), and are you using the Tidal app in MAX quality?

I give you another song that for me is MQA: https://tidal.com/track/143940?u

for anyone who owns both the Ziigaat Nuo and the Penon Space, I implore you to give it a try. If any of you own the Nuo, Space, and DCE like I do, then well....you're gonna be treated to the BEST sounding budget single DD. I was left speechless and dumbfounded by the performance of that 10mm LCP driver. The depth is the first thing that jumped out at me, followed by the supreme clarity of the midrange, the well extended but never crispy or strident treble, and though it does NOT have the bass punch of the Dawn MS, it's got superior stage width and depth, tonality, and midrange resolution and spacing. Bass resolution and timbre are just first rate for something that goes for $30.00, and Linsoul currently has them on sale for $23.00. STEAL OF THE YEAR! They are the same drivers as the Piccolo and the Wyvern Black, but this crushes both in every facet but bass heft, but it's not that it's bereft of bass, it's just that it's a more resolute and sub bassy set, where those other two have more mid bass presence (and some would say bleed). Superior clarity and instrument separation to both, and stage width and depth than both, not to mention midrange bite. Female vocals are so resolute as well, as you hear breathes and enunciations and lip smacks. It's a resolute delivery, and not a warm one. The Wyvern black is warmer, but not as detailed or resolving. Male vocals are similar, but with a bit more note heft. Now give the Nuo some tube warmth, from the B4-X (or I'm sure any tube amp), and that added warmth makes a difference. At that point, it's leaps and bounds better than the Piccolo or Wyvern.

Something tells me the Space Cable is helping out, but how much? I dunno? Try it for yourself?
I don't have the space cable, but I bought the Nuo for $15 and the Dawn MS for $39 in the Amazon sale. I will get space and dc elite later.

Himalaya ? It just didn't clicked, even with the simgot tuning kit. Tried it months later: same. Sure I bought it after the TSMR X, but ... same for the S12 2024 but I do not have the same problem. S12 2024 is not better than TSMR X by any means. My Himalaya is in the Classifieds.

Penon Fan3: the BC is not OK for me: it vibrates my head the very bad way (spins me up like coffee and I am coffeine-sensitive). Sound was good, no question asked.
Bone conduction is just not for me, so it was easy to skip TSMR Shock. Sure I am happy for all of you who like it ! And I feel a bit of envy for the 2 dials to have the ability to fine tune it (but I can live without them).

I have a bit of asperger, bipolar, ADHD; a lot of high IQ and high aggressivity: it is not always a good combo to live with. Add some IRL problems: yeah, I am special and not just in the good meaning. I think I am not the only one to escape reality somehow; music is one of the most important tools for me.
Totally understood, brother. Others had the same reaction to the BCD, so if you can't deal with it, it's better to just deal it. It's much better to hear the truth, that there's a definite influence on the BCD driver, than the folks who said "I don't hear anything?! There's nothing to this BCD on or off!" Ok....sure.

Which one on the player side?
I was just saying that during my troubleshooting of my R4 EVA I have tried using a few iems hooked up to a balanced cable and I have also plugged the 4.4 cables into a 4.4 to 3.5 adapter plugging it into my players 3.5 out for testing. The 4.4 balanced stops working entirely after 3-5 songs, but seems to have no problems when I swap over to the 3.5 out after the problem on the 4.4 out on the player side has occurred.

I just wanted to say, using adapters from 4.4 source (DAP socket) to 3.5 buds cable is the way to destroy a source. At the best case nothing happens. At the worse anything possible (partial or complete output stages destroying).

You made a wise choice, and with that JDS labs 3 knob amp you just made me want to PTT on, you can increase the bass just a tad, and make them the #1 value single DD in your miserly arsenal! Congrats on that cheap but brilliant purchase!

So the Subjective3 is just a EQ on the fly so it won't act as an amp. But it's so good. I miss mine. If I didn't have my Archel 3 Pro which has tone control, I'd consider adding it back to my library.

Speaking of BCD:

Using it standalone with MQA unfolding and max stream quality on Tidal, wrote wrong on previous reply. Meant it showed green light for me.

Tried some jazz tracks here instead, light changes between them. Not read up on what the LED does? Simple man, I listen and of it sounds good I don't care to much about the technical stuff 😄

Yea, totally! It's one of those tips that is a solid one for everyone to know (hopefully not learning the hard way!). Thanks for verifying! :beerchug:

Relax bro, I'm the nerd here 😂

The green indicates 2 things: sampling frequency >64kHz or MQA Standard.

When you play an MQA, instead of the sampling frequency (in one of your images, 96kHz) you showed the bitrate in K (bit/sec), in your second image.

Now it happens to me that after an MQA song (bit/sec), the next song if it is flac 44.1, the system remains 'stuck' on (bit/sec).
What do you care, you might ask?
And I would answer that in that condition the plugins
DO NOT WORK.

Have Tidal still got MQA ?

They were dropping it completely over three months ago.

I ditched my subscription because of the apparent dishonesty, like in Leo's picture above, Tidal says 16/44.1 but the DAP shows 705.6 which is clearly an MQA sample rate.

Yes, they still have a lot of tracks in MQA (at least in my playlists).

I have to say that often they are non-mainstream authors. They probably can't find the flacs, and to not leave you high and dry...
