Also got back my Alpha Omega today with the launch design in purple, with matching Astral Acoustic cable. Sounded as good as I remember, dynamic and fun. Also got the RA today, and will review it after a few weeks. Should be interesting for many in here being the little brother of the flagship.

Color matching that red/brown is wild, very nice.

Love the color coordination on these. Are these products an early unit or are they out already?

Thick as a brick.

Shanling H7 is the golden standard for portable DAC/Amp combo under 1000 US$. It packs the punch and the size, lol. Not so portable for me at least. Look at the size difference in comparison to different portable DAC/Amps, Dongles and a standard mobile phone.

I can confirm this after using the H7 with the Annihilator 23 und the HE1000SE.
Compared my H7 to the AK SE180, SE300, SR35, Ibasso DX180/240/260, Cayin N7, Cayin N8ii, Ifi Gryphon and Ifi Go Bar.

I just preferred the N8ii over the H7. This thing is a steal, especially second hand.
Bluetooth performance is also stellar.

This IEM is truly a master of imaging and soundstage, with sneaky good bass texture and presence to boot. Only thing it's missing for me is some more treble sparkle and extension, but it's not bad. Just not quite enough for my preferences.

You're gonna like S12 '24.

Yea, likely and probably.

What source/cable/tips/tracks did you listen to it with to hear that 3D effect? It's either all my other IEMs just sound very 3D already so I cannot hear anything special about it or I just can't hear the 3D effect with my setup.

It’s true - precise imaging and holography are central to many higher end IEMs and setups and these have trickled down to some budget and midrange offerings as well.

My observations are usually with the stock cable unless otherwise noted - in Fan 3’s case, Space. I don’t recall what I used when I heard Wind but am 95% sure it was orange Liqueurs. Which I also used with F3 until I switched to Softears UC for the treble and tighter bass. I use wide bore Velvets for the Shock. I’ve been using the DC Elite a lot lately and it tends to amp up staging and imaging qualities, but the dimensionality I hear is consistent with the other sources in my sig as well.

The effect is apparent in most tracks but here are some that caught my attention recently. Kind of skewed towards electronic because that’s what I’ve been enjoying with Shock lately.

This one turned up in my Bandcamp feed recently. One usually hears the bee moving from right to left quite clearly but with Shock I realised I could almost follow its path with all its loops and figures-of-8 as though it was floating before me. With F3 it’s less obvious as the focus is more on the atmosphere. (Unrelated but when the bass rolls in at around 2:10, it’s advantage Shock all the way)

This one has lots of detail that pops when you have more dimensional imaging and which I enjoy a lot on Shock (but also F3). It’s also a nice one for any set with fast bass and detailed treble to show off on (hello Pilgrim).

And of course you could probably hear it quite clearly on the usual suspects like Yosi Horikawa’s Bubbles as well.

Is there any possible technical advantage to this implementation?

Maybe it’s cheaper? Or maybe they were talking about real Shure EST rather than Sonion EST.

If you read the patents of AFUL, the motivation of most of their designs is to cut costs whilst improving sound quality. I guess most if not all of their BAs are custom made by Bellsing.

*btw the Cantor is looked small next to Diva, made it less scary with its metal nozzle.
Thanks for the comparison

Told ya, when you put ear tips on, they are no different than any previous Aful. The only thing is you cannot use sancai wide bore and velvet wide bore since they are too short and would reveal the metal tube.

Apologies to those trying to avoid S12 2024 temptation…

one of the best values I’ve come across in this hobby. Pure joy to listen to, if there are actually only 2024 of these things then I consider myself lucky. More detailed write up later tonight but what a treat.

Sounds like a winner. Are we in the middle of a planar renaissance?

Gentlemen, the Tansio Mirai Shock is amazing!
My IEM purchases this year might be done.
That is all.
Carry on.
Soooooo...
25 graphs?

Any comments on the treble at settings 1 and 5?
Also, does the bass at 5 still manage to stay clean, or does it get too muddy?

Do we really think they will sell 2024 units? 🤔

I wrote these words in another post, and I said: Since it went on sale, I have had doubts about whether to buy this S12 (2024). Doubts because I have the 12 Pro and shortly after (2-3 months) it broke down. The left channel worked intermittently or cut out; and of course, sending it to China, well, that's not the case... Doubts because I consider myself a happy owner of the DUNU Falcon Ultra Titanium model, for me indispensable and an indisputable reference. Of course, if now I had to choose between the S12 Pro and the FU, there is no doubt here, the FU. Obviously I don't know the set-up of the S12 (2024), although everyone speaks well of it.

If I follow my intuition, I'd rather save my money to climb a few steps. There is no longer any doubt. 😅
Totally agree. By the way, I am good at EQ. 👍🏻
Who knows with these things, time will tell if it sells out. I kind of hope it doesn't, that way if mine craps the bed far into the future I can buy one again and not have to pay astronomical prices however by the time that happens, I'm sure the next latest and greatest iteration of a LetShuoer planar will be out as is tradition or the 7Hz Timeless II will blow us all away (I wish).

All I know is that I was thinking along the same lines as you, wanting to save some money for something further up the food chain. I was also hesitant and having doubts as I already have the OG S12, auditioned the Pro from a tour and own enough planar IEMs to choke a horse. As far as I am concerned the S12 2024 IS the top of the steps as far as planars go, for me. While it is a refinement of the S12, refinement seems like a dirty word to describe it and doesn't do it justice. If you think you can EQ your S12 and have it sound exactly like the 2024 version of the S12, you better share it with the world, you might end up becoming very popular.

I wish you luck trying to resist this thing and admire your restraint. I'm glad I didn't hold back on this one, this one is definitely special.

I’m hardly the right person for the job (main qualification being years of experience googling or otherwise researching correct pronunciations before going out and making a fool of myself in front of business contacts) but the Yu Xuanji one sounds suspect. I believe the u in Yu is pronounced much more like the German ü.

This version sounds more convincing (good luck anyway) :

Smorgasbord ... the first time I see that word and it's so ugly it hurts lol. But thanks for expanding my English vocabulary.

Ha, oops. I believe it isn’t even English - more likely Swedish. But English has always happily borrowed or stolen words without compunction.

But enough about languages from me…

Happy to hear! It was starting to get a bit lonely. Hope the others will have theirs before long.

What's with all the Fidue products suddenly being features, both new and old? Is the founder greasing some palms? I owned this one when it debuted, as well as the A73 and A71. Loved the Fidue A73. Fanstastically tuned 1 + 1 with excellent transients and bass. The left ear died. Bad QC. Didn't like the dual dynamic A71, not due to sound, which was pretty good, but because the fit sucked. Not good ergonomics, which was a plague of many Fidue products. Folks found them hard to get a good fit. This one? Sounded almost spot on how you describe them. Close to my preference, but even I found them kinda bass shy. Still, I enjoyed them for what they are, until the left ear died. Once again, QC issues. Apparently this is something that also plagues Fidue? So yeah, after a few years of daring to pull the trigger on their piezo IEM, the Asteroid, I couldn't bring myself to do it, despite good reviews, due to the fear of QC issues.
All I know is i got sent a set to review my hands are grease free. I genuinely was surprised by how they sounded. I'd never heard of the brand. Sorry to hear you had QC issues with your sets if I have any with this set I'll be sure to mention it.

I should shut up and let @cobrabucket answer but can’t resist leaving my take here…

Any comments on the treble at settings 1 and 5?

1 is too rolled off for my tastes. 2 is mostly inoffensive. I keep it at around 3 and crank it to 4 or 5 if I want it a bit spicier.

The increments on the treble dial btw seem smaller than what I can hear of the bass dial, meaning I don’t hear as drastic differences as I crank it up.

Also, does the bass at 5 still manage to stay clean, or does it get too muddy?

Again for my preferences solely… 5 is when it gets a bit muddy for my liking but I just nudge it down to something like 4.8 and I’m good.

YES. You still don't have the ISN H60?! WTLF are you waiting for?! You seem to find cash for every other IEM in existence, including a ton of fliers, and you haven't yet added a universally lauded IEM with a proven track record as a pound for pound champ? This is as mind boggling as the love for the Orca.
Ok, hope Penon offers some discount.
