there is actually a ER-6 Isolator™ and a 6i Isolator™
im thinking the "6i" is for ipods? if so should i get the ER-6 instead? cus im usin a Zen Vision:M

Either of them will work fine with your DAP. The "i" version just has a lower sensitivity, slightly boosted bass (imagine them without the "bass boost"!) and very slight cosmetic differences. According to Etymotic, the non-"i" version is more accurate.

The 6i has a "fuller", bassier, less bright sound, and doesn't need as much volume. The 6 sounds kind of thin IMO. The 6i is designed to work better with all MP3 players

The 6i has a lower impedance, making them a better mate for DAPs.
