Back in the old days, the people that the public loved were the Hollywood stars like Marylyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Clark Gable. Now since that entertainment has diversified, Hollywood stars are no longer really idolized.
For example, when I think of the entertainers that I love, the first thing that comes to my mind are the YouTube vloggers. I would much rather meet my favorite YouTube "celebrities" than any Hollywood star. Even though these YouTubers are not really famous to the general public.
We are also more interested in the Facebook people than Hollywood stars too. Even reality TV stars have been getting more attention than the Hollywood actors.
Yeah, you still have Hollywood stars that popular but they are declining. People are more interested in the real world which in a way is more refreshing.
