It appears it might. There is nothing about the item being new, as is found in other warranties. .

astell and kern does not like massdrop selling their gear though, they were quite annoyed by this previous drop. How is MD working around with the warranty though?

Knowing MD's love for the grey market, the warranty is likely through MD as it has been in the past with most drops.

I just can't decide in term of sound quality between the AKG K7xx and the K712... Some say it's the same, some say it's not and the K712 still overall better but maybe not worth the extra dols :/

astell and kern usually doesnt drop prices or give discounts as its bad for business and especially for a premium product. I read an announcement for it and massdrop had to cancel the drop even though people paid if i remember right. It makes sense from AKs perspective. I saw beach camera selling open box ak 280 for 1400 though. I think its on purpose. Like they will have to declare it as open box to avoid a conflict although the product is probably new
