Why?  You get cheapish stuff and you don't even need to leave the house if you don't want.

You should ask this of my wallet.

Does anyone know where I can still pick up a pair of HD600s for $260 shipped?

I'm so upset that I somehow managed to miss every one of those deals when they were listed.

HD 700 was heavily discounted because it sucks and doesn't sell well. HD 6x0 were discounted because there's a lot of them available. They've been in production for what, 15+ years? It was a big discount weekend. Those were good targets for Sennheiser.

Bunch of reactionaries...

LOL no. HD 700 was heavily discounted on their open box stock and they all sold out within 2 hours. Just because you think it sucks doesn't make it so. HD 600, 650, and 598 were discounted because of Sennheiser's restrictions on retailers, stopping them from discounting their products at prices they feel fit. Thus, the stock kept building up and now they have to unload.

"Bunch of reactionaries?" You sound like a snobby dingus. Sennheiser had good sales this holiday season. Not sure why you're criticizing people who are taking advantage of their sales.

I read earlier in this thread of someone looking for a good deal on a DAC.  I had seen some good deals but at the time I read the post I could not remember where.

Music Direct has a few that look like really good deals and I believe the iFi - Nano and the Peachtree Audio DACs are good ones at good prices.

Let's try to keep it civil, huh?  We all know the HD700 is a polarizing headphone and a lot of people hate it.  No need to make it personal.

As far as the HD650, etc, you guys basically said the same thing in two different ways, so yeah...

It is said to be one of the top dual driver IEMS budget wise. Haven't heard it myself but it has been getting rave reviews from prominent members. In terms of price, there may be better choices depending on your preferences. What kind of headphone are you looking for?

I bought it at that price friday.....lowest price i've seen...read the reviews on head-fi.

Why would anyone in their right mind buy HD700's when you can get Koss ESP-950's for $600
