I got the HE400 during black friday & they are performing really really well. for $300, it's a steal considering what headphones are on the market now at $300. I did have a lot of sibilance w/ em when I first started using em, but now I don't notice it. It's been 3 days since I've gotten em & I don't believe in burn in, but i dunno. These are legit headphones. of course, if you have a poor source, they only magnify the shortcomings.
 
i would just be afraid it's a scam, but i guess w/ the high seller rating it can't be right?

Say, has anyone received the HE-400 velour pads that were included as a bonus from Razordog's Black Friday deal?

They are going to be shipped separately from the headphone. Got my phones, but no pads yet.

Well, I bit on that Westone 3 deal last Wed and have not ever received any shipping info. So, I was quite surprised today to find them on my porch. These are awesome out of the box so far! Can't wait for it to burn in even more.

There is a tape that you can remove from the driver that will increase the amount of bass. If you google for HD439 and Mod, you'll find a couple threads on headfi.

I used modeling clay, felt, and some dynomat type material. Very similar to what I did with my T50rp. Basically bumped the bass, and seemed to tighten it up a little. They are bass heavy, but my cousin will love them as he listens to bass heavy music, and watches action movies (explosions and stuff).
