Anybody know what the "special deal" price is on the HD600 at Buysonic? Just looking for a ball park, to see if it's worth getting them to call me to set it up. Missed out on the Amazon.ca sale when they were $299 or something like that. Grabbed a pair of the HD598 off amazon.ca for $113, but they apparently sold out while I was ordering. Supposedly I'll still get them for that price, it's just a matter of if/when they get more. In the meantime if I can get a dirt cheap pair of hd600, I'll gladly switch

After the $294 deal for the HD650 from Adorama last week, the best deal seems to be from Proaudiostar at $309

So many hd 650 deals lately, I never got the hype for these headphones to me they lacked bass impact and were extremely veiled and boring. Good headphone if you suffer from insomnia though as these will make you fall asleep from the sound signature

Crazy how people hear things differently. Lol. I don't get that at all with my 650's , in my setup. They're definitely amp and source picky. They really shine with a decent OTL amp , with some good tubes. I admit that I was underwhelmed , when I was using a iFi iCan micro. Not the case with my Valhalla, running 1975 6n23p Voskhod silver holy grails. I can't begin to tell you how amazing it sounds. The 3D holographic , detailed , airy sound is insane. And the bass is full with impact and deep. None of that existed with my iCan. Almost gave up on the 650's. Lol

I wish you guys wouldn't make posts like this. I may have to buy a set.

I had the HD650 for a couple of weeks and didn't think too much of them...thought they were veiled.  However, the amp I had at that time had much less power than the amp (Burson Soloist) I have now and I may have to buy another set of HD650 just to see if the Soloist will lift that veil.  I am a firm believer that more power is always good. I am also a believer that if so many people love these headphones they must be doing a heck of a lot right.
