Not as great of a deal as the eBay BuyDig DT880 premium edition, but still a great price ($145 shipped) for a better looking (my opinion) version of the DT880

Not really analytical to be honest. They aren't a bright peaky sounding headphone. Non fatiguing. I got the DT1350 on the last sale of them. Very well balanced and has really solid low end to them. No weird peaks or dips in the sound. They are much more easier to drive than the 80 ohms would indicate.

The only problem for me is that they sound so damn good they will make you curious about Beyers higher end cans. Yes they are the real deal. Excellent portables and an absolute steal at $120.

Well, the bass is so punchy that can be a little fatiguing :D
I do think they benefit from a small amp though... seem to sound so much better out of my Piccolo than straight from my other sources (all portable though) at least. Suppose that could just be the better volume control of the amp I'm picking up on.

Got the 1350 golds on the last go-around as well. I was a little bummed that they haven't improved the super noisey cable since the original version, a shirt clip helps but even my beard makes noise on it :veryevil:
Also, if the gold color is putting anybody off, it's actually a really subtle gold, not very gaudy.

My take (YMMV); they are very nice headphones indeed, especially at the price. If you read Tyll's review, though, he makes a point of mentioning a "discontinuity" in the sound, that is, the highs, mids, lows, don't quite integrate into a whole. This didn't bother him much; I suppose some are more sensitive to this than others. I find I don't like it, and I tended to reach for my On1 or Senn Amperior on ears more often, even though the 1350 did much technically "better". But, again, I think most folks won't mind this, and it is a steal at around a hundred bucks.

Would like to hear the On1's...

On the 1350 vs Amperior, to my ears, I hear deeper bass and better low-mids with my 1350s and more mid-bass and upper-mids with my Amperiors. Also find the Amperiors more 'energetic' and the 1350s more 'laid back'.

Got the Amperiors for $94...amazing the quality of cans you can get for a less than $100!

Clip it to your beard. Or clip your beard.

Amazon fraudulent third party seller alert:

A new technique that I have not seen before is for the seller to charge a very large shipping fee--$550 in the example I recently saw.  The price of the item is still low balled.

This "just launched" (aka newly named) third party seller still wants to be contacted outside of the Amazon system.
