Telsa drivers are dynamic drivers.  The only difference is a marketing term.

Thought they started advertising them as Tesla drivers because the driver magnets are measuring 1 tesla or more?

Yes, a marketing term.  They're still dynamic drivers, and the person I was quoting made it seem like they're a totally different technology.

You can connect it directly, but for the most natural and detailed grinding noises I recommend using a FAC, Schiit has some on offer.  (Fruit to Analog Converter). It really smoothens out the sharpness and edginess on lemons and gives apples that extra zing, it also adds more bottom end to bananas.

Cheers.

So what's the difference between the headphones?

"DT770 have a Dynamic Driver the T70 are Tesla"

Telsa drivers are just a marketing name for a type of dynamic driver developed by beyerdynamic. Nothing bad about that. They are very good drivers.

There are quite a bit of differences between the 1770 and 770. This isn't the place to enumerate them. I highly recommend you read the 1770 threads to learn more. Heck, just call beyerdynamic on Monday morning and ask them, they would be happy to explain it. You'll get more info, however, from online research.

First, I blend my iPod. See that here (really) https://youtu.be/B8H29jU8Wrs

Then I marvel at all the things they blended with the Will it Blend series as I listen to tunes on my new speakers :)

Do the apples get lush mids or are they still seedy?

With Beyerdynamic something like DT770 32OHM and DT770 250OHM is a big difference, even though they look the same. Beyerdynamic know what is doing when it come to marketing, you need to read/test which one is right for you the T70 are newer but the DT770 are still the "gold standard" for studio work

No, this is doubtful. Recording engineers need headphones that are neutral, not V-shaped, as the DT770 are. I love Beyerdynamics (a lot!), but they typically have a V- or U- shaped signature, making them slightly less accurate (for studio work), but still awesome for audiophiles who like their house sound (like I do).

Just my two cents, based on hearing a few of the Beyers and reading a lot.

I don't own a studio and make a engineer use the DT700, samething like a radio station broadcaster most use the Sony 7506 it is just the way thing work
