How do you like the aluminum compared to your other wood LCD-2s? I prefer wood, but the $699 price is so tempting.

You can pm me if you want, as this is a bit off topic.

You literally asked this on the previous page.  If you abhor aluminum or prefer bamboo/rosewood over it that much, just get one of the other versions.

After the chipping (bamboo) and cracking (rosewood) I've had on my previous LCD-2's the aluminum is a plus for me ;^)

Give up hope! Give up hope! And then, when one day you see a satisfactory deal, you'll be as pleasantly surprised as us to find one that meets your requirements. I totally will leave first dibs on buying a gen1 T1 to you!

Excuse me, but I "literally" did not.

I said I preferred the wood, although I haven't seen the aluminum in person. I was asking drews how he liked the aluminum since he has had both.

Alright, fair enough; however, he did answer the exact question you asked.

It is well known that the cracking in LCD headphones has been fixed for some time. I was looking for a little more than "how easily does it crack".

Edit: We are way off topic here. He sent me a pm already and was kind enough to go into a bit more detail.

Probably best not to derail further. I bid you good day sir.

How are peoples' experiences regarding these open box items? I really want to try a pair of these, but have missed the last few new/sealed deals.

I have never had any issues with newegg used them several times. mostly new items but few open box(speakers) everything was in great shape. they have a return policy too if you do have any issues with the item.

Those both look like phishing or some other scheme. They've been popping up with increasing frequency lately on amazon with too good to be true deals on audio equipment. Usually the seller has something like "please contact {email address} before purchase" in the name. Just report it as suspicious and move on, I wouldn't recommend making the purchase

Seems to be some scheme that runs across many expensive items (headphone, speakers, monitors, computer parts, etc). Looks like they try to get you to contact their email address and then make the purchase outside Amazon (i.e. "send us your credit card number, promise we're honest!)

Guaranteed scam to get your credit card number.

If it looks to good to be true then it likely is.
