RSX

Spring 2010! Can't wait! With all the troubles that Rhino Records been having, this is great news that the Disintegration Remaster is still in the works. I can honestly do without the instrumental and rough demos, but it would still be interesting to listen to. The nice news is the expanded "Entreat" on CD3, with the remaining Disintegration live tracks included. I was hoping for a complete Wembley 1989 release instead of an expanded "Entreat," but I can understand that wouldn't be very marketable. That live set that "Entreat" was culled from would fill 3 74 minute CDs, which still remains one of The Cure's longest live setlist ever.

And better news... more remastered stuff for 2010! 'Wish' remastered! 'The Cure In Orange' on DVD! 'Show' on DVD! A complete BBC Sessions compilation! No more listening to crappy bootleg versions of their Peel Sessions! Woo hoo!!!

All this, and if they release the (much darker) companion album from 4:13 Dream that Robert has been talking about last year, 2010 will be the year of The Cure. Can't wait!

That is great news! I've been wanting to get Disintegration on vinyl for some time and now I'll just wait and get this remaster. Thanks for the heads up on this!

It's good to see that Rhino is still kicking and planning future releases.

Disintegration has been on my Amazon wish list. Need to get it at some point. Now I'll have to decide remaster or old?

Too bad I already have the original Entreat release. I wish they would have included something previously unreleased.

Now, if they would release the Cure at Orange video on DVD (unless I missed it). My VHS copy is getting tired.

I was thinking the same thing Dublo7, other than being able to own a good quality vinyl release, I don't really see how the original could be improved upon in terms of sound.

As do I, but I feel that the transition from Prayers for Rain to Disintegration is much better with Same Deep Waters as You in between. I guess that means I'm really only interested in one track.

Disintegration sounds pretty good already. I don't think a remaster is necessarily gonna be good for the record.

Oh man, stoked! This album came out when I was a freshman in high school (yeah I'm old.) I bought it on the way to the airport to go see my grandma, and pushed 'play' on my walkman as we were taking off through the clouds...this album DEFINES headphone music to me. Yay!
