But how do you get the FLAC files on your iDevice? I tried to drag & drop from my music folders to iTunes/music for my iPad3 and it is not supported.

itunes>apps>scroll down to flacplayer> click add files.
 
It only plays flac. also the actual player has a how to guide on it.

Are the measurements on  InnerFidelity accurate?  Is the M8 really that noisy?  The Fostex HP-P1 and ALO International for example are 26x quieter at 0.05mV to the M8's 1.3mV.  Can't be right... right?  The 846 I use would just hiss like a mother given it puts out 90dB with 12mV input.  So iem users... yay or nay?

Any updates on the Mini M8?  The photos on Headfonia would suggest the the balanced output is back.  Or maybe just the connector.  Also looks like maybe a digital attenuator or a lesser pot.

I don't have the HP-P1 nor the International. But comparing it to DX90, M8 really is noisy and does have as quiet a background as DX90. It's not an exact comparison but I tried both iPod Classic and Mac as a source.
 
The volume pot is noticeably noisy while turning it.
 
The roll-off at the low end just confirms why my T1 does not have the same amount of rumble/impact on M8 compared to my DX90/O2 combo.

I tried the mini Hifi-m8 at the Tokyo meet. Good sound less power. I have written about it in a hifi-m8 thread or the tokyo thread. Tokyo show thread has some photos.

I havent experience any trouble with hiss and iems with my hifi-m8 and the different high end iems i have tried.

My test would be... gain on high, pot wide open, nothing playing, iems in ear... hiss?  My GS-X mk2 is dead quiet as is the AK100 for that test.

It should be just matter of switching between the 2 usb inputs, the second input, on the apple version, is the one you would use with your android phone (or your pc),but you need an otg cable that's not included (kinda cheap on amazon).

Hifi-m8 full gain and full volume with Dita the Truth=no hiss.

Hifi-m8 and ATH-CK10- gain high ,volume at 12:00(after that a slight hiss-but way over iems listening level).

No track playing of course.

DT235 at high gain is a hiss machine on M8 even at 9 o'clock.

There's a very low level hiss with my Tralucent 1Plus2's that's noticeable without music playing. Normally I'll find hiss bothersome it hasn't been much of an issue with the M8.

My volume pot is also noisy when I turn it but I think that's just the nature of the pot they use.

Stupid question alert: I have been using my iPod Classic with my M8 and included cable from Centrance. I now have an AK100 and also want to use it with the M8. What cable do I buy and who makes one?
