Out of curiosity what have you found to be the best for tiny ear canals that handles classical music and film scores well?

I mostly listen to classical, piano, jazz, blues, indie, rock, heavy metal and very rarely some RnB and EDM!

Anyone got a recommendation for a good all rounder with replaceable cable and solid comfort / XS tips for small ear canals :)

I'll caveat that I haven't heard 99% of these sets, but I'd guess you would like something with a neutral-ish sound and if you need something with small nozzles, then Etymotic or Akoustyx have the smallest.

Added:
  • KBEAR KW1
  • Spirit Torino Twin Pulse Beryllium
I think the KBEAR Neon might be discontinued but I'll leave it on the list for now.

I wish there was more discussion, but I suppose you'd have to try and find reviews to get a feel about which ones are best.
Personally I've seen these praised a lot: Tanchjim One/Darling, Etymotic (all of them), JVC FD01/FDx1, Sony XBA-N3, Final E5000, HifiMan RE800

Bullets are very niche it seems. Pitty. Personally i really am not a fan of the current shell shape zeitgeist and was happier a few years back with small L shapes and tear drops.

Add the Astrotec Vesna (mind the bass tuck) and Kbear Little Q to your list.

Wish this thread saw more action. Almost all the IEMs I've got are cable down, and the over-ear ones I have... I wear cable down. Prefer that confiruration, prefer the smaller shells. There are so many out there to list, though, what might be more interesting is to hear people's favourites.

Being objectivish, maybe the "best" I have heard is the Intime YO. It's pretty neutral, bass is quite fast, quite deep and quite well textured, but what is exceptional is Intime's proprietory VST tweeter, which is just stunning. Other strengths of this model are the lush mids and ethereal highs, and the impressive soundstage, like that of a larger, more expensive IEM.

Another I've heard with similarities to the YO is the Ochuraku Co-Donguri which has a surprising soundstage width and depth for a small single driver, and very good instrument placement. Also comes in 2.5mm TRRS despite the fixed cable which is nice. Somehow, though, the overall tonality doesn't excite me all that much. It may be the extension or the fact that I prefer a drier signature.

Also interesting is the Akoustyx S-6 which is essentially a tiny planar in an Etymotic shell. These have the most detailed bass I've heard, and it's not just fast in a tight, lean way: it's there in 3D with the decay precisely measured. It's very revealing throughout the spectrum, capturing all the nuances of tone and texture, ultrafast and well extended. If If I was going to be critical: there might be a lack of subtlety. If a sound is there, it's right there.

Would be interested in other people's standouts, especially nice examples of compact design.
