100+ Head-Fier
I had a brief experience with these headphones. I was the one who made sure it was brief
One of my father's friends heard that I bought some expensive headphones, and when he didn't recognize the brand name (I'm sure my dad told him Grado) he gave him his Bose headphones for me to try out.
Very first impression: I had to lower the bass levels on my receiver significantly just to equal my MS-2s. Ahh, so the truth is revealed. Isn't it generally accepted that many 'standard consumers' tend to be bassheads?
Of course, once I did 'normalize' the bass, the rest of the headphone was not impressive at all. I really have nothing new to add.
Just felt like I should share my experience. The owner of the Bose 'phones apparently had a very superior attitude towards them. I wonder what he'll say when he learns that I didn't like them?
Though I'll admit, closed style headphones do somewhat pull me in, because of my noisy computer fans... but I love my MS-2s too much to give them up
