Electronic is one of the holes in my music education. I tend to like what I hear, but I've yet to buy any albums and actually sit down with them... only exceptions being Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, and them only because of their metal links.

Yeah, as soon as I read your thing on metal being the area where there are tons of subcategories / substyles - I thought of Electronic music as being the most ridiculous (although I don't find it ridiculous, they are distinctive things)

I will freely admit I know ~nothing about BM and I'm not much of a fan either.

However, I've enjoyed these two ~bm..ish albums and thought someone else might too:

Rakoth - Planeshift
Chaosweaver - Puppetmaster of Pandemonium

Just discovered this band called Inquisition not too long ago while clicking around on youtube. Im pretty picky when it comes to black metal and these guys have really kept my attention. Anyway, this is what ive been mostly listening to by them:
