The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread

Hanging around a community you think little of is entertaining?  That's strange.

That's not what I said. Please don't put words in my mouth and stop taking this thread OT.

Edit: I don't think little of this community, as such; I just think it's grossly ignorant. Reading back through some of the old threads it wasn't always like this. Then, the kids took over. What's worse is the refusal to learn.

I understand what you mean by saying older headphones are still competitive as a lot of older headphones are still highly praised and some consider them to be the best. I'm just saying that the reason other people classify them the way they are is accordingly to what there own maker place them. I'm sure if you ask sennheiser what is there currently best headphones, they will not say "it's the hd600" or Beyerdynamic will say "it's the DT880". Sure you can give your opinion that the DT880 sounds the best and maybe it does sound the best overall, but the line up will still be the same and It's classification order will not change.

soundeffect
, several years ago HD650 were flagships of the Sennheiser line, like Beyerdynamic DT880 and AKG K701. There is no such thing like ex-president :))) When you have BMW 730i 1990 it's still 730i in 2015, not becomes 325i.

You got me there :stuck_out_tongue:. My analogy sucks. Haha!

That's not what mid-fi means in the world of audio. It's not indicative of product placement; rather it's sound quality. Only on this kiddie forum are product designations price-based.

What would the adult forum be, I would love to take a look.

Cheers,
K

The adult forum would be the same, only the headphones would be worn by curvaceous women wearing next to nothing.

Haha, interesting. But then, it will be quite hard to browse it in the office.

But I really am interested, which forum is meant to be more adult in this regard....

How do you compare DT880 with HE500?
