Orpheus, L3000, R10, Qualia 010, HP1 would be some good places to start if you're looking for "the best"...

PK1. Does need an amp to perform best but is still quite nice without one.

I suggest the Stax SR-001MK2.
Without a doubt the best sounding earphone I have ever heard.
