I'm looking for something portable and small, but not too small, and not too big and bulky either.for use in the library and outside, so i need some noise cancelling. My music choise is mostly Black metal (Cradle of Filth, Buzrum, marduk) Indie Rock (interpol, the Bravery, Editors) and Folk, althought there's also some trip-hop and brit pop in the mix.

So far i have those choices: ...but im open to anything new

--Grado sr60(but people say they r bad for outside)
--Panasonic RP-HTX7
--AKJ K81
--Audio-Technica ATH-ES7
--Audio-Technica ATH-SJ5
--AH-D1000
--sennheiser HD437

i believe you're referring to the grado sr60
and those would be an excellent choice headphone for you with respect to your musical tastes

but absolutely terrible for library and outside use

i'll throw in the sony v6 in the mix. they're a studio standard and are very durable

x2.

I would also suggest the MS1, but it's not appropriate for library. The ES7 is a few dollars more than your budget, but it's worth every penny. They're also my portable cans. I love them 'cause I can fold them flat and fit perfectly in my laptop case.

I used to think the mirror finish on the ES7 was sexy, but I actually saw one recently, while walking to class, on some guy. They looked so weird (maybe it was the guy's head idk), like the headband was waaaay too wide; the part of the headband that goes onto the earpieces came off them at such an angle. I think it was the guy's head. I don't know. Disregard this post lol.

You can bend the headband to make the band wrapping to the contour of your head. There was a thread discussing about this "mod". No phones fit everyone perfectly.
