Not sure if you're responding to my post, but I was defending the OP when someone else said "what did the OP expect people to say" - I explained that for the uninitiated they assume there's a pat answer within a budget limit in their head.  They never assume so much variety and such exorbitant prices.
 
This thread is largely useless because so many pages are dedicated to suggestions before the correct criteria were known.

The problem with Elitism is that it is generally not noticed among those displaying that behavior.  No thread in which a person asking for information and is willing to learn is useless.  Yes, this thread didn't start in what would be considered an optimal format, but that in no way makes this thread a waste of time.
 
Now, as a disclaimer:  I am in no way claiming whether elitism has been used in this thread or not.  I am just trying to help make one side understand the other, which does not necessarily seem to have happened so far.
 
Now for my 2 cents:  If you feel a thread is a waste of time, then just don't read it.  Don't spend time complaining on it.  Its not helping you, the OP, or anyone trying to offer help and resolve the questions the OP has.

I'd go with a combo that's more well-known to work great with the LCD-2, like O2 and ODAC combo that's been suggested quite a lot here.

Back when I was starting, my dream was to try the HD600. And now seeing some very fair prices in the FS forum, you can get one for a very fair price compared to back then. Not judging or anything, but I constantly see very wealthy people "wasting" their money on very expensive gear when they don't even understand what it is. At a local Headphone store, one fellow was trying to buy an AKG K3003i as his first IEM... He tried it and asks if there is anything better. To put it simply, the guy was trying to get the BEST IEM so he can have that status of the BEST IEM. He didn't care if it sounded phenomenal (which it does), he just wanted the best... And people with that kind of mindset really makes me sigh in disbelief... I want to give people experience, not useless buying advice. Thanks for reading and apologize for my harsh comment plz

like some rich person spending $3000+ on a HD800 + some amp he doesnt know the name of and end up pumping 128 kbps rubbish into it with his nokia phone

he is a rich kid(not really a kid since he is 19), he will throw his headphone after a getting bored with it, and now he is screaming for me to ask him for a amp, i really did regret telling him that heaphone , but hey, i wont lie, i too was intersted in it, and how the amp could really make it so much better

The Teac is around $500 and a Tesla T5p is $999 on ebay that's $1 short of your max, then.

Another aesthetic hi-end combination is Darkvoice La Figaro 339 with LCD-2, however then you need a DAC / sound-card as well.
