THE best female vocals? (your favorite female singers)

The Celtic connection seems to be missing out.

Enya.
Maire Brennan.
Sinead O'connor.

How about a bit of Chinese,Dadawa can Wail with the best as can Emma Shapplin who is French,Voya Con Dios who hail from Belgium get the feet moving.

Era and Enigma are worth it for the female vocals alone, and if you like a bit of chanting there is none smoother than Deva Premal and Dona De lory.

But lets get back to the Best, the album "The Black Opal" takes female singing to another level,a level where Lisa Gerrard reigns supreme.

And for are Canadian friends good old Loreena is still flying the flag.

^What's wrong with her? I love her voice.

Also the four/past/w.e in Celtic Woman are nice to listen to, although they're ALWAYS so sibilant.

Nothing's wrong with her. In fact I love her voice and went with my girlfriend to her concert. I just think that most people here wouldn't agree.. though I could be wrong.

Neko Case
Julia Fordham
Cassandra Wilson
Ann Wilson (of Heart)
Aimee Mann

THE Neko Case album in my opinion is The Marble Index.

Few will agree with me I think.

Pretty hard to beat "Fox Confessor". So I guess I don't agree, but we are talking about music here, so why would I? :p
