*EDITED*

Hey Guys,

Like many members here, I have been lurking in these forums for years. The comments and reviews provided here have helped me narrow down some difficult choices in the past. I can honestly say that I have never been dissapointed after purchasing a headphone that was endorsed by the members of this forum.

I prefer the sound and comfort of full-size headphones. My experiences with IEM's in the past has been terrible. However, over the past few years, with the technology and engineering going into these IEM's I believe its time I give them a chance again.

After weeks of reading reviews and the opinions of many, I have composed of list of IEMs that I find suit my needs.

I am hoping that some experienced members can help my choose between the following products.

[size=small]Etymotic ER-4P
HiFiMan RE0
Thinksound Rain
Audio Technica ATH-CK10

Also, please note that I have also purposely left Sennheiser of the list. I have listened to couple of their products under $200 and I do not believe they should even been mentioned with the group I listed above.

You are right, but I think Klipsch Custom3 ain't bad at all

As ex-owner of ER4p, E4c and Super.fi5:
Er4p with equalization for sure. No need to compare at all.

Bass: Super.fi5 (Er4p worst)
Vocals: E4c (Super.fi5 worst)
Detail: Er4p (E4c worst)
Accuracy: Er4p (Super.fi5 worst)
Dynamics: Super.fi5 (E4c worst)
Soundstage: E4c (Er4p most narrow)
Fitting: E4c (Super.fi5 worst)
Isolation: Er4p (Super.fi5 worst)
Least Microphonics: Super.fi5 (Er4p worst)
Instrument Separation: Er4p (Super.fi5 worst)
Lesser Simbilance: Er4p (e4c worst)

Er4p's strong points: Analytical and Isolation
E4c's strong points: Smooth vocals, Comfortable
Super.fi5 strong points: Dynamic and very low microphonics
Er4p's weakness: Micro-phonics and weaker bass
E4c's weakness: Weak high end, limited dynamics
Super.fi5 weakness: mid range, fitting, isolation

Negakinu,

After reading various reviews regarding Hippo products, it appeared that overall the Shroom was superior to the VB model.

I have listened to the Denon lineup and they have a very neutral sound, a quality that I actually enjoy but they do not shine in any areas. Also I find that lower line Denon products have terrible cables. Recently had the cable break on my own personal headphones. I am actually recabling them at the moment with some Canare L-4E5C.

I have read some good feedback regarding the Fischer Audio products. However I have not seems a lot of members endorsing them on the level of the others in the list.
