Jvc fx3x are pretty good and have a lot of bass. I got a pair off of eBay for $20 a month ago.

Hahaha the Pro700MKII has a lil bit too much bass for me. How does it compare to the WS99 in terms of clarity?

IMO, if you want to satisfy your basshead side and audiophile side in one headphone, there is the M-100, then everything else.

Well you listed 4.  Above is my ranking.

I have read good thinks about the Velodyne VPulse.

While pricey, I have B&W C5s.  They have great bass and with the earloops they are secure enough to do backflips without falling out.

vPulse has excellent bass, good mids, and ok highs, but I would NOT consider them suitable for working out or doing any sort of physical activity. They have vents that prevent any pressure/suction in your ear canals, so if you are moving around a lot you will lose the seal and they will fall out, no matter what size tips you use. But they are excellent for sit-down listening. This is one of the main reasons I sold them, as I mostly use my IEMs while walking.

My ranking would be as follows:
Sound Quality - all are pretty close in terms of technical capability but depends on what sound signature you're looking for.
M-100: Bass-emphasized, balanced everything else
Logitech: Relatively balanced/flat
MDR-1R: Mids-emphasized, laid back sub-bass and treble

Durability
1. M-100 (by far)
2. MDR-1R
3. Logitech

Comfort
1. MDR-1R
2. Logitech
3. M-100

DESIGN
1. MDR-1R
2. M-100
3. Logitech

I would say M100s as well. By far the most durable and best sound quality IMO.
Some people have had issues with comfort, but I can wear them for hours on end with no discomfort.

One question. Alot of people say that the bass on the pro 900 is much better than vmodas, but that its so harsh that its not worth it. Im just still wondering how good the quality of treble and mids are, regardless of sound signature. I find that the people here at headfi tend to exaggerate

Their bass is among the best.  The mids are more recessed than M-100 and the highs are truly the harshest I have heard- at another level from the brightest Grado, Beyerdynamic, etc.  With no exaggeration, the highs were nearly as unbearable to my ears as nails on a chalkboard.
