Hey Bassheaders,

Maybe you can help me to find my second headphone. Now I owe an AKG Q460, the source is an iphone4 and my laptop, I don't use any amp and buying one is not a plan now (it can change). So I would like one where it's not necessary to use an amp with it, it can be either open or closed. The max price is 250usd.

Kind regards

Lots of options for ya!

M-Audio Q40
Beyerdynamic DT770
Denon D600 (yes, you can find them often for less than $250 -  I paid $239)
Ultrasone Pro900 (ditto my comment about the D600 - I paid $236 for mine)

Seriously consider an amp of some kind, even if you start off with a cheap FiiO E-6 for $25 and work your way up - it's worth it.

Thank you for the advice! DT770,DT770pro or DT770M?and which kind (32,80,250 ohm)? About the fiio e6: does it connect via usb to a laptop?

I only had the 32 ohm LE version so can't answer there other than it did have a nice sound and great bass.

FiiO E-6 is not a USB driven DAC/amp - that would be an E-10 or D-5 or E-7 or E-17.  It's a good little starter amp - that's what I began this crazy journey with.

Guys,
Im trying to choose between this 2 headphones:

V-Moda M100 Shadow
Logitech UE9000 or UE6000

Sound Quality (Bass)
Comfort
DESIGN

Comfort: Logitech wins hands down.
Design: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so you decided!
Sound: The M-100 is definitely more thumpy and with ANC activated, to me the 6000&9000 sounds very poor and without ANC bass is minimal. I would say the M100 is better IMO.

Not to forget the M100 is more expensive so do consider price/performance ratio!

UE9000 is more expensive than the m100 :/
and design, I would appreciate your opinion
